Clarksville For Obama holds Voter Registration Drive and Rally

 

Election 2012Clarksville, TN – Clarksville For Obama in partnership with Credo for Congress & members of the Montgomery County Democratic Party held a Mass Community Voter Registration Drive and Rally at the headquarters of Credo for Congress.

Candidates for elected office were present to talk with the public and to also assisted in helping to register people to vote.

Local NAACP to host Community Forum with Elected Officials.

 

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People - NAACPClarksville, TN – On September 15th, 2011 the Clarksville Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will hold a community forum at the Burt – Cobb Community Center, 1011 Franklin Street Clarksville, TN. The forum will run from 7:00pm until 9:00pm.

Special guest speakers will be:

Tennessee State Senator Tim Barnes – District 22nd Democrat (Montgomery, Cheatham & Houston, Counties).

Tennessee State Representative Joe Pitts – District 67th Democrat (Clarksville & Montgomery County).

Trip to Muhammad Ali Center inspires youth

 

Muhammad Ali Center Louisville KentuckyLasting Improvements For Excellence Inc. (LIFE), and its founder Mr. Kenneth Albritton took 29 kids from Lincoln Homes and neighborhoods around the city and, on a field trip to the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville Kentucky.

Van transportation to the center was provided by Faith Mission Ministries Church Clarksville, Pastors Harold and Gwen Browning. The trip was also made possible by the generous donations and support from Leonard and Michael Tharpe from Brandon Technologies Incorporated, Tennessee State Representative Joe Pitts, the local chapter of the Triple Nickel, Tennessee State Senator Tim Barnes, Terry & Wanda McMoore of the Urban Resource Center, Vision Construction Company, Sergeant Major Sidney Brown, along with several anonymous donors.

In a letter to the parents Mr. Kenneth Albritton reminded them of the accomplishments of Muhammad Ali, and stressed the mission statement of his organization LIFE. «Read the rest of this article»
