City of Clarksville, TSSA negotiations on State Soccer Park to enter next phase

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The Tennessee State Soccer Association has accepted the City of Clarksville’s invitation to begin negotiating a potential management and use agreement for a state soccer park as part of a new Clarksville Athletic Complex.

TSSA said Tuesday in a letter to Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan that it “wishes to enter the next phase of negotiations” and that its board will vote on December 1st to select a site for its statewide soccer complex.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan reveals Proposed 2019 City Budget

 

No Tax Increase Plan for City of Clarksville includes Priority Road, Parks Projects

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan presented her 2019 financial plan for the City of Clarksville, which calls for an overall 2.88 percent increase in General Fund spending but no increase in the City property tax rate.

The Mayor, in a 20-minute speech Thursday, outlined  her budget priorities, and offered specifics on plans for public safety improvements, better roads, strong family recreation opportunities, and a new downtown parking garage.

Clarksville City Council approves Clarksville Family Athletic Complex land purchase

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The Clarksville City Council voted 8-4 Friday, giving final approval of the purchase of 300 acres of land off Rossview Road near Interstate 24 Exit 8 for use as the Clarksville Family Athletic Complex.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan said the 300-acre purchase would accommodate a proposed Tennessee State Soccer Association state soccer park and a baseball stadium complex to attract a Prospect League summer collegiate baseball team, both of which are key components of the plan to develop the Athletic Complex using increased sports tourism-related revenues.

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The Clarksville City Council voted 8-5 Thursday to approve a new ordinance allowing purchase of land off Rossview Road near Interstate 24 Exit 8 for use as an athletic complex.

After the Council voted 7-6 against purchasing a larger 409-acre tract on May 3rd, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announced she would continue efforts to win approval of her Clarksville Family Athletic Complex project.

After the Council voted 7-6 against purchasing a larger 409-acre tract on May 3rd, 2018 Mayor McMillan announced she would continue efforts to win approval of her Clarksville Family Athletic Complex project.
