Tennessee Vols Basketball hosts Colorado, Tuesday

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – As the popular saying goes: The sixth time is the charm.
 
After five game cancellations over the last two weeks, the 13th-ranked Tennessee basketball team now aims to open its season Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 welcoming Colorado for a 5:00pm CT tipoff at Thompson-Boling Arena.
 
The game will be streamed on SEC Network+.
 
Tennessee is 2-0 all-time against Colorado, picking up wins in Knoxville and Boulder in 1980 and 1981, respectively. Vols head coach Rick Barnes is 13-4 as a head coach against CU.

Tennessee Vols Football loses to No. 6 Florida at Neyland Stadium, 31-19

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Despite giving up just 21 rushing yards and making multiple timely stops, Florida’s (8-1) passing attack was too much for Tennessee (2-6) to overcome in a 31-19 defeat on Saturday inside Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee true-freshman quarterback Harrison Bailey completed 14 of his 21 pass attempts for 111 yards and his first career touchdown toss in his first career start for UT.

Bailey became the fourth ever Tennessee true-freshman signal caller to make his first career start against a top-10 opponent, joining Erik Ainge, Josh Dobbs and Brian Mauer.

Tennessee Vols Football takes on #6 Florida Gators at Neyland Stadium, Saturday

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – The Tennessee Vols Football team is back on Rocky Top this Saturday for its first home game in six weeks as the Vols welcome SEC East rival No. 6 Florida to Neyland Stadium for a late afternoon showdown that will be broadcast nationally on CBS.

The Big Orange have not played a home game since their October 24th contest against Alabama, which will be a span of 42 days when Saturday’s game kicks off. UT did not play a home game during the entire month of November due to postponements and schedule reshuffling, marking the first time that has happened since 1891.

Tennessee Vols Football loses at #23 Auburn Tigers, 30-17

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsAuburn, AL – Despite holding a two-possession lead in the second quarter and another stellar performance by sophomore running back Eric Gray, Tennessee was unable to deliver the upset at No. 23/21 Auburn, falling 30-17 to the Tigers on Saturday night.
 
Gray recorded a season-high 173 rushing yards on 22 attempts, marking the second consecutive outing the Memphis, Tennessee, native surpassed the century mark and the fourth time this season. Gray added a touchdown on a 1-yard scamper late in the fourth quarter, but it would not be enough to turn the tide.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – After an unexpected open week, the Tennessee football team will be back in action this Saturday night with a primetime showdown On the Plains against No. 23/21 Auburn.

The Vols will look to earn their second win at Auburn in the past three seasons after upsetting the 21st ranked Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium back in 2018, giving Jeremy Pruitt his first signature win as UT’s head coach.

Saturday’s game will be broadcast at 6:00pm CT on ESPN with Joe Tessitore (PxP), Greg McElroy (analyst) and Allison Williams (sideline) calling the action.

Tennessee Vols Football falls on the road to Arkansas Razorbacks, 24-13

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsFayetteville, AR – Despite leading 13-0 at halftime, the Tennessee Vols football team was unable to hang on and fell 24-13 to the Arkansas Razorbacks at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Saturday night.
 
Arkansas (3-3) scored all 24 of its points in the third quarter while holding the Vols scoreless in the second half. 
 
Sophomore running back Eric Gray had another impressive performance to lead the Vols offensively. The sophomore recorded his fourth career 100-yard rushing game, finishing the night with 123 yards on 31 carries. He added 27 yards on three receptions, as well.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – A refreshed and revitalized Tennessee is back in action this Saturday after a productive open week. The Volunteers travel to Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks at 6:30pm CT. The game will be featured on the SEC Network.

UT will look to snap its three-game skid and start the second half of its schedule on a high note.

Saturday’s game will take place in primetime with Tom Hart (PxP), Jordan Rodgers (analyst) and Cole Cubelic (sideline) calling the action on the SEC Network starting at 6:30pm CT.

Tennessee Vols football falls to #2 Alabama Crimson Tide 48-17 at Neyland Stadium

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – The Tennessee Vols football team got a pair of touchdown passes from senior quarterback Jarrett Guarantano and a career-best day from freshman wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, but it wasn’t enough for the Vols to keep pace in a 48-17 setback to the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide at Neyland Stadium on Saturday.
 
Guarantano who had scoring passes of 38 yards to Hyatt and 27 yards to senior wide receiver Josh Palmer, finished the day 13 of 24 through the air. He moved into seventh on UT’s career passing yards list (5,976) after throwing for 162 yards vs. the Crimson Tide. Guarantano moved past Jeff Francis (1985-88), who threw for 5,867 yards during his career.

Saturday’s contest between the Vols and second-ranked Crimson Tide will mark the 103rd meeting between the two storied programs.

Tickets for Saturday’s game are sold out. Gates open to the public two hours prior to kickoff at 12:30pm CT.

Kentucky Wildcats roll over Tennessee Vols Football 34-7

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee sophomore running back Eric Gray rushed for a season-high 128 yards, but four first-half turnovers by the No. 18/17 Vols were too much to overcome in a 34-7 loss to Kentucky Saturday afternoon at Neyland Stadium.
 
Gray posted his second 100-yard game of the season and third of his career. He ran for 105 yards vs. Missouri on October 3rd and had his best day as a Vol last season on November 30th vs. Vanderbilt with 246 yards against the Commodores. He ended up with 24 carries vs. UK on Saturday, finishing one short of the career-best 25 attempts he had vs. Vandy. Defensively, UT was led by linebacker Quavaris Crouch, who was in on a career-high 11 stops.
