Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds continue their #LastCheerAtGreer with the team’s seventh homestand of the year at Greer Stadium, which begins this Monday, July 21st.

The eight-game homestand features a pair of four-game series, as the Sounds will first play the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Colorado Rockies affiliate) from July 21st-24th and then the Oklahoma City RedHawks (Houston Astros affiliate) on July 25th-28th.

Sean Halton Ties Nashville Record With Two Triples To Pace Offense

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Veteran right-hander Claudio Vargas tossed a quality start and the Nashville offense posted its highest run total in three weeks during the Nashville Sounds’ 7-1 victory over the cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds on Wednesday evening at Greer Stadium.

Vargas (4-1) continued to have the Redbirds’ number as the veteran authored his third quality start victory in three starts against Memphis this season. The right-hander struck out a season-high seven batters while holding the ‘Birds to one run on four hits in his seven frames of work.

Nashville Beats Round Rock, 6-3, On Tuesday Night

 

Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds topped the Round Rock Express, 6-3, on Tuesday evening at historic Greer Stadium in the finale of a four-game set.

Taking three of four games from Round Rock in the series, Nashville (43-36) moves back into first place in the PCL Northern Division with the victory after Memphis and Iowa took losses earlier in the evening.

Marty McLeary (2-6) threw his first quality start in his longest outing of the season to earn the win, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits on three walks and five strikeouts over seven innings.

McLeary allowed leadoff doubles to begin the first two innings on the mound for the Sounds, but the right-hander retired the Express offense in order to strand the runners on base to keep the game scoreless. «Read the rest of this article»

Round Rock Express And New Orleans Zephyrs Make First Visit To Greer During Seven-Game Homestand

Nashville, TN — The Nashville Sounds return home to historic Greer Stadium this Saturday, June 26th, to open a seven-game homestand against the PCL Southern Division’s Round Rock Express (Astros affiliate) and New Orleans Zephyrs (Marlins affiliate).

Highlighting the week’s worth of promotions will be three fireworks shows, Taco Bell Throwback Thursday, and an appearance from The Famous San Diego Chicken.

Saturday’s homestand opener with the Round Rock Express begins at 6:35pm, with the first of three postgame fireworks presentations during the seven-game homestand following the action on the field. Gates open at 5:05pm.

The largest and longest-running pre-game traveling baseball celebration, the Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest and Minor League Baseball Museum, will land at Greer at 3:35pm on Sunday. The event features over 20 free midway-style attractions and activities next to the ballpark including batting cages, radar gun pitching challenges, super slides, the Great Clips Mobile Video Game Arcade, and much more! It will be a Purity Sundae Sundays with $1.00 ice cream sundaes, and Ozzie’s Kids Club members will receive free admission.
