APSU names Florida State College administrator Lynne Sponaugle Crosby as assistant VP of Academic Affairs

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Dr. Lynne Sponaugle Crosby, a high-level administrator at Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ), was recently named assistant provost and assistant vice president of Academic Affairs at Austin Peay State University.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TNDerek van der Merwe, who has served as Austin Peay State University Athletics Director for the past 1 ½ years, will step down from that post after being named the University’s Vice President for Advancement, Communication and Strategic Initiatives.

That announcement was made Friday morning by University President Alisa White. van Der Merwe replaces Dr. Brian Johnson, who left the University in Spring 2014 to become president at Tuskegee University.

Tuskegee Airmen lose their “A-Train”

 

Historic Tuskegee aviation pioneers lose a heralded member. “A-Train” Dryden takes his final flight

Lt. Colonel Charles W. Dryden (USAF-Retired) died June 24 after a brief illness. He would have been 88 years old in September. As reported in Nashville’s The Tennessee Tribrune, Colonel Dryden and his bride of 32 years, Marynal Morgan Dryden, never stopped living life to the fullest.

Funeral services held on July 1 celebrated his life. The services were held at Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta. He lay in state from 9 to 10:30 AM that morning. He was eulogized the Reverend Andrew Young, former Mayor of Atlanta and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. «Read the rest of this article»
