50 Companies Join President Donald Trump’s War on Coronavirus

 

The White HouseWashington, D.C. – “Some 50 major American firms have joined the national war on the coronavirus, many volunteering to shift their focus and even assembly lines to deliver needed supplies to doctors, hospitals, first responders and others on the front lines,” Paul Bedard reports for the Washington Examiner.

“Most said that they answered President Donald Trump’s call for help,” Bedard writes. The companies that have enlisted include Facebook, Anheuser-Busch, Ford, Fiat Chrysler, and many others. “Other national and local groups have also brought in corporate partners to help find masks, gowns, and other personal protective equipment.”

HUD awards over $63 Million to Public Housing Authorities in Tennessee

 

Money to be used to improve and preserve Public Housing across the State

Nashville, TN – U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan today awarded $63,882,077 to public housing authorities in Tennessee. The funds will allow these agencies to make major capital improvements to their public housing units. This funding is part of $2.3 billion HUD awarded today to 3,131 agencies across the U.S, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. HUD to help nearly 1,300 Homeless Veterans find Permanent Homes

 

Additional $7.5 million allows HUD to help total of 9,000 homeless vets

Washington, DC – U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan announced today $7.5 million in additional funding to allow local housing agencies to provide a permanent home for 1,255 homeless veterans. The funding is provided through a second round of grants under HUD’s Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program (HUD-VASH) program.

Working closely with local Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers, local public housing agencies will target these grants specifically to homeless veterans in their area. Earlier this month, HUD announced $58.6 million in HUD-VASH grants to provide 7,500 vouchers for homeless veterans. HUD to provide permanent housing to nearly 165 Homeless Veterans in Tennessee

 

$842,998 HUD-VASH program to provide rental housing and support services

Nashville, TN – U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan announced today that nearly 165 homeless veterans in Tennessee will get permanent housing assistance through a HUD rental assistance program that connects homeless veterans from local Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMC) with rental assistance vouchers provided by local public housing agencies. HUD’s Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program (HUD-VASH) will provide Tennessee public housing agencies with $842,998 in funding specifically targeted to assist homeless veterans in their area.
