Tennessee National Guard aircrew rescues Stroke Victim

 

Tennessee National GuardClingmans Dome, TN – A Tennessee Army National Guard medical flight crew responded to an emergency air evacuation mission after a victim suffered a stroke while hiking in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park area, April 15th, 2021.

At approximately 9:00am, the Tennessee Military Department and Tennessee Emergency Management Agency were notified of a possible stroke victim near Clingmans Dome along the Appalachian Trail, needing immediate medical care.

Tennessee Governor, First Lady Haslam Partner With Peyton Manning To Raise More Than $550,000 for the Pat Summitt Foundation

Tennessee State GovernmentNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and First Lady Crissy Haslam on Wednesday, September 26th, 2018 partnered with five-time National Football League MVP Peyton Manning to raise awareness and funds for The Pat Summitt Foundation, financing research, treatment and support for those facing Alzheimer’s disease.

Both a lunch event at Wellspire Nashville and a private, ticketed dinner held Wednesday at the Tennessee Residence together raised more than $550,000 to benefit the fund established by the late head coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteer basketball team, Pat Summitt.

#6 Tennessee Lady Vols fall at home to #3 Mississippi State Bulldogs, 71-52

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN Mercedes Russell recorded 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting, but No. 6/7 Tennessee was unable to overcome a 13-point halftime deficit in a 71-52 loss to No. 3/3 Mississippi State on Sunday at Thompson-Boling Arena.
 
Jaime Nared added 12 points for the Lady Vols (16-3, 4-2 SEC), who now have dropped three of their last four. Victoria Vivians led the Bulldogs (20-0, 6-0 SEC) with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Teaira McCowan recorded 12 points and 18 boards.
 
After Anastasia Hayes made it a seven-point game with a free throw early in the fourth quarter, MSU was able to shut down UT offensively, allowing no field goals over the final eight minutes while closing the game on a 14-2 run.

Two private, ticketed events held Tuesday together raised over $600,000 to benefit the fund established by the late head coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteer basketball team, Pat Summitt.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Dr. Roberto Fernandez, medical director of The Pat Summitt Clinic at The University of Tennessee Medical Center, and his wife, Dr. Denia Ramirez, and Peyton Manning.

Tennessee National Guard Aviators receive Sikorsky Rescue Award

 

Tennessee National GuardKnoxville, TN  Several Tennessee Army National Guard Soldiers from the 1-230th Assault Helicopter Battalion that is now part of Joint Base McGhee-Tyson in Knoxville, TN, were awarded the Sikorsky Rescue Award July 10th, for participating in three different lifesaving missions in Eastern Tennessee earlier this year.

“To be eligible to receive the Sikorsky Rescue Award, an individual must have directly performed a lifesaving rescue in any Sikorsky helicopter,” said Shay Collins, a customer award program manager with Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation.
