Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade joins with APSU Homecoming Parade for one spectacular event

 

Montgomery County Veterans Service OrganizationClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s 2019 Veterans Day Parade was even bigger than usual as it was merged with the Austin Peay State University (APSU) annual Homecoming Parade, an occurrence that happens once every five years.

Thousands, who gathered on the streets of Downtown Clarksville Saturday morning to celebrate, were treated to approximately 150 parade entries, ranging from APSU’s Homecoming Court to Veterans groups, First Responders, marching band and more.

Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs to Host Outreach Event for Robertson and Cheatham Counties

 

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Tennessee Department of Veterans AffairsVeterans Affairs is partnering with the American Legion Post 45 and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2120 to offer a Veterans outreach event for Robertson and Cheatham Counties.

The 2012 Week of the Eagles Super Saturday Air Show was a real crowd pleaser

 

Fort Campbell, KYFort Campbell's Week of the EaglesFort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFor many people the highlight of the Week of the Eagles has got to be the Fort Campbell Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation and Veterans of Foreign Wars Air Show. This aerial extravaganza event drew over 40,000 attendees to Campbell Army Airfield on Saturday.

Things kicked off with the opening ceremonies which consisted of the posting of the colors, and a welcome from Maj. Gen. James C. McConville, the Commanding General of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, KY; followed by the National Anthem; and performances from the Liberty Jump Team and the 101st Airborne Parachute Demonstration Team, Army’s oldest Parachute Demonstration team

Week of the Eagles MWR and VFW Air Show sneak peek

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – On Friday afternoon, August 10th, local media were invited out to Campbell Army Air Field to watch the rehearsal for the Week of the Eagles MWR and VFW Air Show. Clarksville Online was on hand to bring you some photos of what’s in store for you Saturday, August 11th. From what we’ve seen, this is going to be one awesome show.

Mark Green Speaks to Veterans of Foreign Wars District 6

 

Election 2012Clarksville, TN – Dr. Mark Green, the conservative Republican candidate for State Senate in District 22, spoke to a packed house at the Veterans of Foreign Wars District 6 meeting Sunday afternoon.

Green spoke about his time in the military and about some of his experiences with 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment the night Baghdad fell to Coalition Forces. He also talked about some of his family’s experiences in Clarksville while he was deployed.

Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union Hosts Welcome Home Concert at Fort Campbell

 

Welcome Home ConcertFort Campbell, KY – Early Saturday afternoon several country music stars made their way to the division parade field to honor the soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division.

Prior to the show, Charles English with the band Rocket City said there is alot of great talent here today and they are motivated by the soldiers.
