Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – Visit Clarksville says close to 2,200 athletes, coaches, and spectators will visit Clarksville on Saturday, October 6th, 2018 for the Class A and AA Boys and Girls Cross Country Middle School State Championships.

Armed with tents, coolers and plenty of water, family members will cheer runners along the two-mile course beside the Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center, 250 Old Farmers Road.

Visit Clarksville announces Tickets on sale now for Miss Tennessee USA 2019 Pageant

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – Delegates from around the state will adorn Clarksville for the 2019 Miss Tennessee USA and Miss Tennessee Teen USA Pageants on October 12th-13th, 2018 at the Austin Peay State University Music and Mass Communications Building. Organized and produced by Greenwood Productions, the upcoming pageant marks Clarksville’s 20th year to host the event.

The preliminary show will take place on Friday, October 12th, 2018 at 7:00pm.

Starting at 10:00am from First Baptist Church, veterans from near and far will be honored with marching bands, JROTC units, active duty soldiers, floats and more.

Visit Clarksville names Fortera CEO Tom Kane Board of Directors Chairman

Kane is president and CEO or Fortera Credit Union, a position he has held for six years. Kane is originally from Wisconsin, but has worked in financial services in numerous locations across the country for 25 years. He also served as chairman of the Aspire Clarksville Foundation in 2016-17.

City of Clarksville receives Tennessee Tourism Grant for Wayfinding Project

 

Updated signs will direct motorists to tourist attractions in Clarksville

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – A local wayfinding signage project will benefit from a $75,000 Tourism Enhancement Grant presented Monday to the City of Clarksville by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.

The signage project is a partnership between the City and the Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau, which is also known as Visit Clarksville.

Kevin Triplett, Commissioner of Tourist Development, presented a $75,000 grant to City of Clarksville and Convention and Visitors Bureau officials on Monday. They are, from left, City Grants Administrator Debbie Smith, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Michelle Dickerson and Francis Mancito.

Clarksville to unveil Pat Head Summitt statue, life-story display, Friday

 

Honoring a Champion. Inspiring Greatness

Pat Head Summitt Legacy PlazaClarksville, TN – Through the keen eyes of a sculptor, an architect and an exhibit designer, the Pat Head Summitt Legacy Plaza has come to life at Freedom Point.

A bronze statue of Coach Summitt, hometown hero and legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach, and an interpretative display of her life story will be dedicated at 3:00pm Friday, June 15th, 2018 in Clarksville’s Liberty Park.

“Though her famous ‘stare’ may be missing, our sculpture hopes to embody her passion and fire,” said Brett Grill, sculptor of the Coach Summitt statue. “She was a rare talent, quickly ascending to the highest reaches of her field, which she dominated throughout her career.”

Pat Head Summitt Legacy PlazaClarksville, TN – Clarksville civic volunteers will achieve their goal of honoring Pat Head Summitt, hometown hero and legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach, with the dedication of the Pat Head Summitt Legacy Plaza at Freedom Point on Friday.

A bronze statue of Coach Summitt and an interpretative display of her life story will be dedicated. The event is open to the public. The media is invited to the cover the ceremony.
