For the Second Consecutive Year, Three Record Harvest at Elk Hunt

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Three hunters recorded harvests during Tennessee’s third managed elk hunt held October 17th-21st at North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area.

It marks the second straight year that three of the five participants harvested an elk during the hunt. All five participants were Tennessee residents.

Richard Rutherford of Walland was the first person to harvest an elk in this year’s hunt. The weight was unavailable for the elk with a 5×4 rack size that was harvested on the first day. «Read the rest of this article»

Third Elk Hunt set to get underway

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The third-ever managed elk hunt in Tennessee is scheduled to begin Monday, October 17th and will continue through Friday, October 21st as five persons will be seeking a trophy at the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area.

Four persons, all Tennessee residents, were selected in a computer drawing from 6,840 applicants for this year’s hunt. The participants drawn for this year’s hunt  are Richard R. Auction for remaining Permit in 2011 Elk Hunt extended through Sunday, July 24th

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The auction for the final permit in Tennessee’s third managed elk hunt has been extended through midnight (CDT) on Sunday, July 24th.

The final permit will go to the successful high bidder in the eBay auction which is being conducted by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation (TWRF). Proceeds from the auction benefit the state’s elk restoration program.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) again donated a permit to a Non-Governmental Organization to join four others who were selected from a computer drawing. The TWRF was the recipient of this year’s donated special take permit. «Read the rest of this article»

Winners Announced during June TWRC Meeting for State’s Third Managed Elk Hunt

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Four persons have won the right to participate in Tennessee’s third-ever managed elk hunt. The winners were announced Friday during the June meeting of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission at the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Region II Ray Bell Building in Nashville.
