Clarksville High’s Teal Young leads Wildcats past Gallatin Green Way in Region 5-AAA Quarterfinals

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Teal Young knocked down five 3s on his way to a game-high 23 points, Tuesday, February 24th, at William Workman Gymnasium, to lead Clarksville High School to a 70-48 Region 5-AAA Tournament quarterfinal victory over Gallatin High School.

It was back-to-back 3s midway through the opening quarter by Young that gave the Wildcats (15-11) a 10-9 lead after Gallatin had scored six straight points to take its biggest lead of the game, 9-4.

Four Clarksville High Lady Wildcats reach double figures in rolling past Springfield Yellow Jackets 60-38

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s girls basketball team used a balanced scoring attack Tuesday, February 3rd at William Workman Gymnasium, placing four players into double figures on its way to defeating Springfield High School 60-38 in a District 10-AAA matchup.

The Lady Wildcats (17-9, 11-2 District 10-AAA) took control of the game quickly, picking up a couple early 3s from Ellie Treanton and Hannah Goins to get out to a 8-2 lead 2:08 into the game.

Goins would finish with 12 points, while Treanton chipped in with 10 points for CHS.

Clarksville High Wildcats edge Springfield Yellow Jackets 45-44 to lock up first-round district tournament home game

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Tyriek Cheatham’s free throw with 24.2 seconds left Tuesday, February 3rd at William Workman Gymnasium, proved to be the difference for Clarksville High School as the Wildcats edged Springfield High School 45-44 and lock up a first-round home game in next week’s District 10-AAA Tournament.

Clarksville High (11-11, 8-5 District 10-AAA), along with Springfield and Northeast High School, entered the night tied for third in the district standings, but the Wildcats victory over the Yellow Jackets earned CHS the tie-breaker over Springfield – having swept the season series — and guaranteeing no worse than a fourth-place finish in 10-AAA.

Haley Bearden, who finished with a game-high 20 points, would come off the bench to key the opening salvo for the Lady Wildcats (14-9, 8-2 District 10-AAA) scoring the final five points of the game-opening 10-point run.

Kenwood Knights rally from early Clarksville High barrage to defeat Wildcats 57-51

With the win, Kenwood (14-7, 7-3 District 10-AAA) remains tied for the top spot in the district standings with Northwest High School – who defeated West Creek High School 71-61 – while CHS (9-10, 6-4 District 10-AAA) drops to third-place.

Cannon Campbell’s final salvo lifts Rossview Hawks to overtime victory over Clarksville High Wildcats

Cannon, who finished with a game-high 18 points, put Rossview (11-7, 3-6 District 10-AAA) up quickly in the overtime period on a driving layup just 19 seconds into the overtime.

Rossview Lady Hawks defeat Clarksville High Lady Wildcats 44-29 to take control in 10-AAA

 

Rossview High School HawksServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Rossview High School’s girls basketball team went a long way in trying to secure their third straight District 10-AAA regular-season championship, Tuesday, January 20th at the William Workman Gymnasium, as the Lady Hawks defeated Clarksville High School 44-29, in a showdown between the top two teams in the district.

Both teams came out and struggled in the opening minutes in getting their offenses going, with Rossview (13-5, 8-1 District 10-AAA) needing almost two minutes to get on the board with baskets from Mickey Head and Cassidy Taylor putting the Lady Hawks up 4-0.

Big fourth quarter powers Clarksville High Wildcats past West Creek Coyotes, 69-59

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s boys basketball team outscored West Creek High School 20-11 in the fourth quarter, Tuesday, January 6th at William Workman Gymnasium, to pull away for a 69-59 victory and ending a three-game losing streak.

The Wildcats (6-8, 3-2 District 10-AAA) held a slim one-point lead, 49-48, over West Creek heading into the fourth quarter, but saw the Coyotes (3-14, 0-5 District 10-AAA) take their first lead since the opening quarter, 56-54, with 3:11 left in the game following a bucket by WCHS’s James Johnson.

Clarksville High Lady Wildcats pull away late versus West Creek Lady Coyotes to pick up sixth straight win

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s girls basketball team scored the final 10 points in its District 10-AAA contest versus West Creek High School, Tuesday, January 6th at the William Workman Gymnasium, to pull away for a 53-40 victory.

The win is the sixth in a row for the Lady Wildcats (9-8, 4-1 District 10-AAA), as they also move over the .500 mark for the first time this season.

Clarksville High, who had trailed earlier in the fourth quarter, was clinging to a three-point lead, 43-30, following a bucket by West Creek’s Madison Kurtz with 1:27 left.

Clarksville High Lady Wildcats extend win streak to three with 55-12 victory over Fort Campbell

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s girls basketball team extended its season-best win streak to three games, Saturday, December 20th at William Workman Gymnasium, as they cruised to an easy 55-12 victory over Fort Campbell High School.

Literally, right from the opening jump ball the Lady Wildcats (6-8) were in control of the game, as Ellie Treanton scored four seconds into the contest on a layup after the opening tip.

It would be 4-0 Lady Wildcats when Fort Campbell (0-8) would get its first points of the game, on a jumper from the right wing by Charisse Fairley, with 5:39 left in the opening quarter, but that would be as close as the Lady Falcons would get.
