Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team travels to Columbus, Ohio for its final tune-up before the conference championships at this weekend’s Buckeye Tune-Up, hosted by Ohio State.

The one-day meet begins 5:00pm, Friday, at the French Fieldhouse.

Richards and Obi lead track and field during split weekend

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team split ranks for the weekend, sending sprinters to the Sea Ray Relays, and taking distance runners and jumpers to the Bellarmine Invitational.

At Bellarmine, the Lady Govs distance crew did a nice job despite some unsightly weather conditions. In fact, six Lady Govs set personal bests in the 1500-meter run, led by Xiamer Richards, who ran the race with a time of 4:48.76, which was more than seven seconds faster than her previous best.

Sprint crew gets Lady Govs track and field off to good start

Austin Peay State University GovernorsConway, SC – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team got off to a strong start in the first day of the Coastal Carolina Invitational.

In the team’s first outdoor meet, head coach Doug Molnar had great expectations and his team did not disappoint.

“I was real proud of our 4×200 team,” Molnar said. “It was a real nice effort by all of them and a real good start by our sprint crew.”

Obstacles not slowing Lady Govs track and field at TSU Invite

Austin Peay State University GovernorsNashville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team passed a test in overcoming obstacles, Saturday, with a strong showing at the TSU Invitational.

Going into the meet, the Lady Govs knew they would be without a large portion of their distance runners as well as jumper Cenitra Hudson. That didn’t stop them from posting a number of personal bests on the track in the distance events, relays and sprints.

Austin Peay Track and Field welcomes familiarity at the TSU Invitational

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – After a two-week layoff, Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team returns to indoor action at Tennessee State’s TSU Invitational, Saturday, at the Gentry Center.

Austin Peay will be making its second trip to the Gentry Center after participating in the Ed Temple Classic, January 8th. This time, the Lady Govs will be without a number of athletes due to illnesses and injuries, including sophomore Cenitra Hudson, who set the triple jump school record, January 8th, at this facility.

Hudson sets triple jump school record at TSU Invite

Austin Peay State University GovernorsNashville, TN – Sophomore Cenitra Hudson’s school-record triple jump highlighted Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team at the Ed Temple/Tennessee State Invitational, Saturday, at the Gentry Center in Nashville.

While Hudson improved her personal best in the 200-meter dash to 26.08, her greatest performance came in the triple jump. The Memphis native bested the school record – previously held by APSU Hall of Famer Ayesha Maycock – with a 12.45m (40-10.25) jump.
