Clarksville Police Department releases Alcoholic Beverage Commission Operation results from February 2nd, 2017

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The most recent Clarksville Police Department operation targeting the sale of alcohol to underage persons resulted in no violations, and the Special Operations Unit Commander, Captain Craig Gipson was far from disappointed. “This is the first time that such an operation has been conducted where there was 100 percent compliance,” stated Gipson.

The February 2nd, 2017 operation included compliance checks at fifteen local businesses. Every business was found in compliance and no citations were issued.

Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemClarksville, TN – The Fifth Annual Pass and Go event, a reward celebration for Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Advanced Placement students who score a 3, 4 or 5 on their exam, is set for this Saturday, July 27th.

Wyatt Johnson is offering the winning student his or her choice of three different cars. Katherine Johnson Cannata, Syd Johnson and Bill Powers stand next to the three options a Toyota Yaris, a Mazda 2 or a Hyundai Accent.

APSU Governors Bass TournamentClarksville, TN – The 17th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is one week away…and the current weather forecast is predicting a near picture-perfect day.

This year’s version will be held Saturday, May 14th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park. Last season’s tourney was postponed from May 8th to May 23rd, due to flood conditions that surrounded the area. APSU Governors Bass TournamentClarksville, TN – The 17th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just two weeks away.

This year’s version will be held Saturday, May 14th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park. Last season’s tourney was postponed from May 8th to May 23rd, due to flood conditions that surrounded the area. Despite the two-week delay, the tourney still drew 269 boats.

Despite recent heavy rains, this year’s tourney looks promising.  APSU again is hopeful of approaching the 300-boat total—the record of 333 was set in 2009.

Governors Bass Tournament rescheduled for Sunday, May 23rd

 

APSU Governors LogoThe 16th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just one week away.

The tourney, postponed May 8th because of flood conditions, will be held Sunday, May 23rd, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, TN, State Park. It was the first time in tourney history that weather caused postponement.
