Nashville Sounds roll past New Orleans Baby Cakes, 10-3

 

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – On Saturday night, the Nashville Sounds dropped the New Orleans Baby Cakes 10-3 at the Shrine on Airline. Nashville’s Andy Ibanez and Carlos Tocci combined for seven hits, four runs and five RBIs in the win. The Sounds totaled a season-high 18 hits and matched their largest margin of victory on the year.

The game was tied 1-1 in the third when Nolan Fontana launched a home run to right field to give the Sounds a lead they never gave away, and they broke open the game with a six-run third off Ben Meyer. Eli White drilled a two-run double, Matt Davidson singled home a run and Ibanez crushed a three-run homer to make it 8-1.

Nashville Sounds blast three homers in the ninth to beat New Orleans Baby Cakes, 6-5

 

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – On Friday night, Nashville Sounds’ Tyler Pill, Patrick Wisdom and Matt Davidson hit home runs in the top of the ninth to push past the New Orleans Baby Cakes at the Shrine on Airline, 6-5.

The homers came off former Sound R.J. Alvarez and turned a 5-3 deficit into a 6-5 lead. Pill’s homer was his first as a Sound and led off the ninth. Then Wisdom crushed the first pitch he saw over the left field wall to tie the game at 5-5.

Davidson, who had entered the game as pinch-hitter in the seventh, drilled a 1-1 pitch an estimated 449 feet to give the Sounds a 6-5 lead.

Nashville Sounds lose to New Orleans Baby Cakes at First Tennessee Park

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Nashville Sounds fall late to New Orleans Baby Cakes 5-3 at First Tennessee Park Thursday night.

New Orleans broke a 2-2 tie with single tallies in the sixth and seventh innings to help win game one of the four-game series.

Delino DeShields started the game with a bang when he drilled a solo homer to leadoff the bottom of the first inning. The solo shot for DeShields to straightaway center field was his third long ball of the season.

Nashville Sounds manage only two hits in 4-0 loss to New Orleans Baby Cakes

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – The Nashville Sounds’ offensive struggles continued in a 4-0 loss to the New Orleans Baby Cakes Sunday afternoon at Shrine on Airline. The Sounds have scored two runs over the last 28 innings of action.

One night after collecting only five hits, the Sounds managed just two against a trio of New Orleans pitchers. Renato Nunez singled in the fourth and Steve Lombardozzi singled in the eighth.

The Baby Cakes were in control from the start with runs in the first three innings. Jon Rodriguez’s RBI groundout gave New Orleans a 1-0 lead in the first.
