Austin Peay State University former student Calvin Lockett joins Gwen Stefani’s team on ‘The Voice’

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) former student Calvin E. Lockett has joined Gwen Stefani’s team on NBC’s hit singing competition “The Voice.”

Lockett, age 25, wowed the judges as he sang the Temptations’ classic “Just My Imagination” during the September 30th airing of the show. Judges Blake Shelton, John Legend and Stefani hit their buzzers seconds into the song during the blind audition.

Army Athletes arrive at the 2017 DoD Warrior Games

U.S. ArmyChicago, IL – Excitement filled the air as buses full of athletes rolled into the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in downtown Chicago, escorted by Patriot Guard riders and American flags.

It was a fitting entrance for Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and the United States Special Operations Command service members hoping to represent their teams in a big way as they compete in wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, track, field, cycling, swimming, shooting and archery at the 2017 DoD Warrior Games hosted by the United States Navy.

APSU’s Scott Raymond creates animated T-Rex Dinosaur for Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards

 

APSU - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Despite how the old saying goes, at Austin Peay State University, those who can really do teach.

Assistant professor of animation Scott Raymond recently came to APSU following a successful career in computer animation, working for DreamWorks Animation on recent films, including “Kung Fu Panda 3,” “Home,” “Penguins of Madagascar” and “Mr. Peabody and Sherman.”

Miss USA PageantClarksville, TN – Miss Tennessee USA 2013, Brenna Mader, 26, has made her way to Las Vegas to take her chance at becoming the newly crowned Miss USA.

The 62nd annual Miss USA pageant will be held Sunday, June 16th at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and can be seen telecast live on NBC at 9:00pm/8:00pm central.

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Multi-platinum singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson will make a stop during her “Stronger” tour to bring her show to the Division Parade Field at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, when she headlines the Tour for the Troops presented by the Air Force Reserve August 13th.

Kelly Clarkson initially appeared on the public’s radar in 2002 when she won the first season of American Idol. She then went on to become an international pop icon, selling over 20 million albums worldwide and has received two Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, two MTV Music Awards, and 11 Billboard Music Awards.

NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly

Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union Hosts Welcome Home Concert at Fort Campbell

 

Welcome Home ConcertFort Campbell, KY – Early Saturday afternoon several country music stars made their way to the division parade field to honor the soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division.

Prior to the show, Charles English with the band Rocket City said there is alot of great talent here today and they are motivated by the soldiers.

Darryl Worley, Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry, Mark Willis and Buddy Jewell  along with some new comers all ready to perform for the the soldiers and their families during this holiday weekend.
