Sounds, Sky Sox To Play Doubleheader On Wednesday Afternoon
Colorado Springs, CO – Tuesday evening’s scheduled series opener between the Nashville Sounds and Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Security Service Field has been postponed due to rain.
The teams will make up the game as part of a 1:35pm CT doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon, when the two teams will play a pair of seven-inning games.
Hunter Morris Belts Team-Leading 6th Homer Of Year For Nashville
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds closed out their nine-game homestand on the short end of a 3-2 loss to the Omaha Storm Chasers on Thursday evening at Greer Stadium.
Nashville (26-22) finished its homestand with a 5-4 record and won its 16-game season series against Omaha, 9-7. Five of the Sounds’ last seven defeats have been one-run losses.
Nashville Sounds Fans Treated To Walk-Off Win and 13-Run Blow Out
Nashville, TN – The first-place Nashville Sounds (26-21) took a pair of wins against the Omaha Storm Chasers in the teams’ doubleheader at Greer Stadium Wednesday evening; winning the opener 5-4 and the night cap 13-4.
In the opener, catcher Matt Pagnozzi hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the 7th inning to give the Sounds a 5-4 victory over Omaha.
Sounds Get First Win at Greer Stadium this Season
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds picked up their first home victory of the 2014 season on Saturday evening, hanging a 5-2 defeat on the Omaha Storm Chasers at Greer Stadium.
Sean Halton and Taylor Green each recorded three hits to pace the Nashville offense, and starting pitcher Ariel Pena struck out eight batters in his four innings of work before leaving the game early after being struck by a comebacker.

Nashville, TN – Despite scoring four late runs, the Nashville Sounds took a loss in their home opener Friday night at Herschel Greer Stadium, falling 5-4 to the reigning PCL Champion Omaha Storm Chasers.
Outfielder Caleb Gindl, two-for-three, pulled the Sounds to within one run in the eighth inning with a towering home run that landed atop the visitor’s clubhouse beyond the right-centerfield wall, but the dinger marked the Sounds final run.
Gamel Homers Twice For Nashville In Homestand Finale Victory
Nashville, TN – Right-hander Frankie De La Cruz hurled 7 2/3 scoreless innings and Mat Gamel belted a pair of home runs to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 7-0 shutout win over the Round Rock Express on Tuesday evening at Greer Stadium in the finale of a four-game series.
With the win, the Sounds (54-57) salvaged a split of the four-game series and earned their third shutout victory of the season.
De La Cruz (6-6) continued his recent dominance on the hill by scattering six hits while striking out seven batters over his 7 2/3 scoreless frames to drop his seasonal ERA to 3.73.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds lost, 9-4, to the Round Rock Express on Monday evening at Greer Stadium in the third game of a four-game series. Round Rock leads the season series, 11-4.
Designated hitter Mat Gamel went 2-for-4 with a homer and a double for Nashville. Outfielders Caleb Gindl and Brandon Boggs added two hits. Leadoff hitter Logan Schafer went hitless to snap his 10-game hitting streak, the longest active streak on the club.
Round Rock opened the contest with a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. After Express center fielder Leonys Martin singled, former Sounds Brad Nelson crushed his first hit of the series, a two-run home run on to Chestnut Street. The long ball was Nelson’s 18th of the season.

Gamel’s two-homer night continued the infielder’s red-hot week at the dish. In his last five games, he is hitting .385 (10-for-26) with four home runs and 11 RBIs. It was Gamel’s third two-home game this season and the Sounds’ eighth overall. He now leads the club with 13 roundtrippers.
