Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds starting pitcher Hiram Burgos has been named the Pacific Coast League’s Pitcher of the Week for the August 27th – September 3rd period.
The 25-year-old hurler tossed 12.0 scoreless innings in a pair of quality starts during the week, scattering nine hits while striking out 10 batters. He held league batters to a .196 average (9-for-46) over the two outings.
Outfielder Led League In Hits, RBIs While Batting .533 In Seven Games
Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds outfielder Caleb Gindl has been named the Pacific Coast League’s Batter of the Week for the August 20-26 period.
The 23-year-old posted a .533 average (16-for-30) with a league-leading 10 RBIs in seven games over the seven-day span. Gindl rapped eight of his league-high 16 hits for extra bases during the week (five doubles, one triple, two home runs).
Nashville Sounds Right-hander Allowed One Unearned Run Over Two Winning Starts
Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds starting pitcher Wily Peralta has been named the Pacific Coast League’s Pitcher of the Week for the July 2nd-8th period.
The 23-year old picked up victories against the division-rival Iowa Cubs and Memphis Redbirds in his last two starts, allowing only one unearned run while striking out 12 batters in 12.2 innings.
In his first start of the week, Peralta matched a Sounds and personal season high with seven scoreless innings, striking out six in his 87-pitch effort. The 23-year-old allowed only one Cubs baserunner to reach second base and did not issue a free pass for the first time all season.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds dropped a 10-6 slugfest to visiting New Orleans Zephyrs on Monday evening at Greer Stadium. The loss was the Sounds’ seventh in the last eight games.
Nashville (21-36) gave up a season-high four Zephyrs homers in the loss, including two from catcher Clint Sammons.
New Orleans starting pitcher Wade LeBlanc (3-4) allowed two runs on six hits while fanning six in seven innings for the victory. The left-hander also doubled in and scored a run from the dish.
Rogers Earns 1st Triple-A Win, Conrad Homers For 4th Straight Game For Nashville
Nashville, TN – Brooks Conrad homered and drove in three runs and Mark Rogers hurled a quality start to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 7-3 triumph over the Round Rock Express on Saturday evening in front of 8,111 fans at Greer Stadium.
Nashville (20-28) earned its fourth consecutive victory, matching the club’s longest winning streak of the season.

Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds third baseman Hainley Statia provided the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning for a 7-6 victory over the Round Rock Express on Friday night at Greer Stadium.
With Corey Patterson on third base on two outs, Statia roped a liner to right field for the Sounds’ second last-at-victory in consecutive nights and eighth of the season. Nashville moved to 19-28 on the season and 12-5 in one-run games.
Conrad Extends Hit Streak To 13 Games With Another Homer For Nashville
Las Vegas, NV – Sean Halton and Brooks Conrad homered and Jordan Brown drove in a pair of runs to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 5-3 victory over the Las Vegas 51s on Wednesday evening at Cashman Field.
Six of Nashville’s seven hits in the game went for extra bases as the Sounds (17-28) snapped a two-game skid and brought an end to the 51s’ four-game winning streak.
Nashville Out-hits 51s Again But Loses For Second Straight Night
Las Vegas, NV – The Nashville Sounds’ road woes continued with a 10-3 loss to the Las Vegas 51s on Tuesday evening at Cashman Field.
Las Vegas led the entire way in notching its fourth consecutive victory and handing the Sounds (16-28) their third defeat in the last four nights. Nashville fell to just 6-18 when playing away from Greer Stadium.
Eight of the nine 51s hitters drove in at least one run as Las Vegas plated 10 runs against the Sounds for the second time in two nights. Nashville out-hit the 51s for the second straight contest but left 12 men on base and went just 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position on the night.
Conrad, Maldonado Homer As Nashville Suffers Another Close Defeat
Las Vegas, NV – David Cooper legged out a go-ahead, three-run, inside-the-park homer and former Sound Chris Woodward contributed four RBIs to lead the Las Vegas 51s to a come-from-behind 10-8 victory over the Nashville Sounds on Monday evening at Cashman Field in the opener of a four-game series.
The teams combined for 18 runs and 27 hits on the evening in a three hour and thirty-seven minute slugfest, marking the most runs and hits recorded in a game involving the Sounds this season.
Nashville, TN – Corey Patterson delivered a walk-off double in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Nashville Sounds a 5-4 victory over the division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers on Wednesday afternoon at Greer Stadium.
With two outs, second baseman Eric Farris reached on an infield single and hurried around the bases as Patterson lined his second double of the game to the wall in right center for the club’s fourth straight victory.
