Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – Join Family and MWR for a Spooktacular time on Saturday, October 5th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Town Center Park located in the Exchange parking lot.

There will be a costume show for the entire Family, makeup demonstrations, Halloween safety tips, Halloween themed crafts, face painting, creative ideas for costumes and decorations, candy, and music.

Fort Campbell Dale Wayrynen Recreation Center has activities for the whole Family in July

 

Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Join Dale Wayrynen Recreation Center (D.W. Rec.) for some great July activities to help keep you cool!

The recreation center will be open on July 4th from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Enjoy the computer lab; play pool, table tennis, a video game or musical instrument; or watch a movie before you go out to the Division Parade Field for the Carnival and fireworks.

On July 7th, they will hold Kids Candy Bingo at 2:00pm. There will be candy and other kid friendly prizes for your children to win. Children must be able to read their numbers up to 75 in order to play. Each child under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent. «Read the rest of this article»

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam signs Food Tax Reduction Bill at Monroe County Grocery

 

Legislation last step in two-year effort to cut state portion of sales tax on groceries to 5 percent

The Seal of the State of TennesseeVonore, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam today traveled to Monroe County to sign legislation to reduce the state portion of the sales tax on groceries from 5.25 percent to 5 percent.

Haslam held a ceremonial bill signing at Sloan’s Grocery in Vonore, Tennessee.

In 2012, the General Assembly passed and the governor signed the first step in reducing the state portion of the sales tax on groceries, lowering the rate from 5.5 percent to 5.25 percent. «Read the rest of this article»

2nd Annual Wettest Egg Hunt this Saturday at Indoor Aquatic Center

 

Indoor Aquatic Center - New ProvidenceClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will hold their 2nd Annual Wettest Egg Hunt at The Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.  Clarksville Parks and Recreation has once again partnered with Sango Pool & Spa to host two not-so-typical egg hunts.

On Saturday, March 23rd, thousands of colored eggs will be floating or sunk in the center’s pools, each good for candy and prizes.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety CommissionWashington, D.C. – A few safety tips from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission can protect children who plan to go trick-or-treating this Halloween.

Treats: Warn children not to eat any treats before an adult has carefully examined them for evidence of tampering.

Flame Resistant Costumes: When purchasing a costume, masks, beards, and wigs, look for the label Flame Resistant. Although this label does not mean these items won’t catch fire, it does indicate the items will resist burning and should extinguish quickly once removed from the ignition source.

To minimize the risk of contact with candles or other sources of ignition, avoid costumes made with flimsy materials and outfits with big, baggy sleeves or billowing skirts. «Read the rest of this article»

HalloweenWashington, D.C. – The scariest thing many parents will see this Halloween may be their bank balance, found a new LivingSocial Families survey. The survey, conducted online among more than 4,000 American families with children by Mandala Research, found that more than half of families plan to reduce their Halloween spending this year due to the economy. Among the findings:

More than half of families surveyed (53%) plan to reduce their Halloween spending this year due to the economy. One in three families (35%) plans to spend less on costumes and decorations, 14% are giving out less candy, and 12% are making their families’ costumes this year, rather than buying them. «Read the rest of this article»

Kids Costume Wall Crawl and Campfire

 

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Join Outdoor Recreation for a spooktacular evening of fun! On October 28th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, climb the fifty foot climbing wall while collecting candy as you climb. Kids 5 to 14 years are encouraged to come in their costumes and climb the 50 foot climbing wall.

Clarksville Fox vs. Knockouts in Women’s Football Saturday

 

Clarksville FoxClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Fox woman’s full contact football team is coming off of a two game winning streak on the road and will be hosting the North Texas Knockouts Saturday June 11th at 7:00pm at Northwest High School.

This will be the Fox’s last game of the season and so tell all your friends and come out to see the game.
