Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds and Oklahoma City Dodgers will play a deciding game five in the American Conference Finals after the Dodgers used a 7-1 win over the Sounds Saturday night to extend the series.
Dodgers’ starter and former Sound Alfredo Figaro went seven innings and limited Nashville to one run over five hits.
Figaro got plenty of offense and it started early for Oklahoma City. Back-to-back walks issued to Micah Johnson and Cody Bellinger started the game. After Nashville starter Donn Roach came back to get the next two batters, Chris Taylor hit a bouncer to third that Matt Chapman mishandled allowing Johnson to score.
Nashville, TN – Two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning propelled the Nashville Sounds to a crucial 6-5 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers in front of 6,643 fans Friday night at First Tennessee Park.
With the come-from-behind win, Nashville took control of the best-of-five American Conference Finals with a 2-1 lead. The Sounds have an opportunity to clinch a trip to the Pacific Coast League Championship Series with a win in game four Saturday night at First Tennessee Park.
After building an early 4-0 lead, Nashville’s bullpen squandered away the lead and trailed 5-4 going into the bottom of the eighth.
Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma City Dodgers got home runs from O’Koyea Dickson and Jack Murphy in a series-tying 5-2 win over the Nashville Sounds Thursday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The homers backed a strong performance by Dodgers’ starter Logan Bawcom who limited the Sounds to one run on three hits in six innings.
Nashville’s lone run against Bawcom came right away in the first inning. Franklin Barreto sparked a rally with a one-out double to the gap in right-center.
Oklahoma City, OK – Renato Nunez knocked in five runs for the Nashville Sounds in a thrilling 10-7 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers in game one of the American Conference Finals Wednesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Nashville raced out to a 6-0 lead thanks in part to a three-run homer from Nunez in the opening frame. They chased rehabbing Scott Kazmir from the game after the southpaw hit two batters, walked a pair and allowed the home run.
New Orleans, LA – The New Orleans Zephyrs scored a run in the seventh and three in the eighth to steal a 4-3 win over the Nashville Sounds Sunday night at Zephyr Field.
Nashville built a 3-0 lead on a strong pitching performance from Daniel Gossett and home runs from Franklin Barreto and Rangel Ravelo only to see the bullpen cough it up late.
Gossett allowed one run on three hits in 6 2/3 innings and was in line for the win in his second career Triple-A start before the ‘pen faltered.
Nashville, TN – Franklin Barreto’s RBI triple scored Josh Rodriguez in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Nashville Sounds a 6-5 walk-off win over the Iowa Cubs in front of 8,002 fans Thursday night at First Tennessee Park.
With the game tied 5-5 going to the bottom of the ninth, Rodriguez lined a base hit up the middle to start the rally against Iowa reliever Gerardo Concepcion. After a failed bunt attempt, the 20-year-old Barreto lined a 0-2 pitch to the gap in right-center. Rodriguez raced around from first to score the winning run.
Nashville, TN – Daniel Gossett tossed seven strong innings and the Nashville Sounds drilled three home runs in an 8-2 win over the Iowa Cubs in front of 6,384 fans Tuesday night at First Tennessee Park.
Fresh off a promotion from Double-A Midland, Gossett allowed two runs on six hits in his Sounds (82-56) and Triple-A debut. He retired eight of the final nine batters he faced and threw 91 pitches on the night.
After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the second inning, Nashville blasted three homers to back Gossett’s performance. Matt Chapman, Matt Olson and Bryan Anderson all homered in the win.
Memphis, TN – The Nashville Sounds dominated the Memphis Redbirds with a 14-4 win Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park.
The win was the 47th on the road for the American Southern Division champions. The 47th win set a franchise-record for most road wins in a season previously set by the 1980 Sounds club that also won 46 away from Nashville.
Matt Olson gave the Sounds an early lead with a three-run home run in the top of the first inning. After a lead-off single from B.J. Boyd and a walk to Colin Walsh, Olson hit a three-run homer to right field. Olson’s homer was his 16th of the season and his third of the road trip.
Papillion, NB – The Nashville Sounds scored all seven of their runs on three home runs to rout the Omaha Storm Chasers 7-0 Tuesday afternoon at Werner Park.
Renato Nunez, Josh Rodriguez and Colin Walsh each hit a home run in the Sounds win. Nunez clubbed his 22nd homer with a solo shot in the first, while Rodriguez added a grand slam in the second and Walsh smashed a two-run blast in the fifth.
After Jaycob Brugman led off the game with a single, it was quickly erased when Walsh grounded into a 4-6-3 double play. With two outs in the first, Nunez unloaded on a 2-2 breaking ball to give the Sounds an early 1-0 lead.
Papillion, NB – The Nashville Sounds plated four runs in the seventh and eighth innings in route to their 13-7 win Sunday afternoon over the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park.
For the second consecutive day, Jaycob Brugman and Josh Rodriguez led the Sounds to a win over the Storm Chasers. Brugman would go 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI and Rodriguez would club two homers in a 2-for-5 outing. Brugman’s four-hit night is his sixth four-hit game of the season with the Sounds.
