Nashville Sounds rally late to take Game Three from Oklahoma City Dodgers
With the come-from-behind win, Nashville took control of the best-of-five American Conference Finals with a 2-1 lead. With the game tied 5-5 going to the bottom of the ninth, Rodriguez lined a base hit up the middle to start the rally against Iowa reliever Gerardo Concepcion. After a failed bunt attempt, the 20-year-old Barreto lined a 0-2 pitch to the gap in right-center. Nashville Sounds beat Iowa Cubs 8-2
Fresh off a promotion from Double-A Midland, Gossett allowed two runs on six hits in his Sounds (82-56) and Triple-A debut. He retired eight of the final nine batters he faced and threw 91 pitches on the night. After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the second inning, Nashville blasted three homers to back Gossett’s performance. Nashville Sounds smoke Memphis Redbirds 14-4
The win was the 47th on the road for the American Southern Division champions. The 47th win set a franchise-record for most road wins in a season previously set by the 1980 Sounds club that also won 46 away from Nashville. Matt Olson gave the Sounds an early lead with a three-run home run in the top of the first inning. After a lead-off single from B.J. Boyd and a walk to Colin Walsh, Olson hit a three-run homer to right field. Nashville Sounds blank Omaha Storm Chasers 7-0
Renato Nunez, Josh Rodriguez and Colin Walsh each hit a home run in the Sounds win. Nunez clubbed his 22nd homer with a solo shot in the first, while Rodriguez added a grand slam in the second and Walsh smashed a two-run blast in the fifth. After Jaycob Brugman led off the game with a single, it was quickly erased when Walsh grounded into a 4-6-3 double play. Nashville Sounds blast Omaha Storm Chasers Sunday 13-7
For the second consecutive day, Jaycob Brugman and Josh Rodriguez led the Sounds to a win over the Storm Chasers. Brugman would go 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI and Rodriguez would club two homers in a 2-for-5 outing.
