Nashville Sounds to hold Texas Rangers Winter Caravan at Ole Smoky Distillery & Yee-Haw Brewing January 29th

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds announced today that they will host the Texas Rangers Winter Caravan at Ole Smoky Distillery and Yee-Haw Brewing Co. at 6th and Peabody on Wednesday, January 29th, 2020 from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

Recently named Nashville Sounds Manager Darwin Barney will attend the event along with Rangers left-handed pitcher Brett Martin and infielder Nick Solak. Joining Barney, Martin and Solak will be Rangers Director of Minor League Operations Paul Kruger.

Martin, 24, is a Morristown, Tennessee native and pitched in 10 games for the Sounds before making his Major League debut in 2019.

Nashville Sounds announces Coaching Staff for 2020 Season

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Darwin Barney has been named the manager of the Nashville Sounds as announced today by the Texas Rangers. Barney is set to become the 30th manager in franchise history.

Barney, 34, will be making his professional coaching and managerial debut. The Oregon native played parts of eight seasons in the big leagues. He spent time with the Chicago Cubs (2010-14), Los Angeles Dodgers (2014-15) and the Toronto Blue Jays (2015-17).

Contest Called After Hour And Seven Minute Rain Delay With Nashville Sounds Leading 4-2

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Sounds got off to a hot start in Monday night’s series finale and took three of four from the Dodgers at First Tennessee Park with a 4-2, rain-shortened win.

The contest looked like it would be an offensive showdown all night long until rain began falling upon First Tennessee Park with no outs in the bottom of the fifth inning. The game was called after an hour and seven minute delay with the Sounds claiming the advantage.

Barry Zito Delivers Eighth Quality Start Of Season in Losing Effort

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds saw their three-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday night in front of 9,297 fans at First Tennessee Park, falling to the Oklahoma City Dodgers 5-0.

The Dodgers touched Sounds starter Barry Zito for two runs in the third inning. First, Kyle Jensen walked and scored on a triple by Buck Britton. Britton then came around to score on Darnell Sweeney’s sacrifice fly. The Dodgers would lead wire-to-wire.

Starter Sean Nolin Goes Season-High 5 2/3 Innings For Second Win Of Season

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Sounds struck for seven runs in the first four innings on Saturday night and beat Oklahoma City for the second straight night at First Tennessee Park, 7-2.

Jason Pridie got the home team off on the right foot in the first. He struck a ball that went for a bloop single in front of the Dodgers’ centerfielder Chris Heisey. It was Pridie’s 82nd hit this season, second most in the Pacific Coast League, and it plated Joey Wendle and Ryan Roberts for a 2-0 advantage.
