Packed House Watches Logan Schafer Belt Two Homers For The Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Brett Wallace belted a pair of homers to lead the Oklahoma City RedHawks to a 10-7 victory over the Nashville Sounds in front of 9,047 fans on Friday evening at Greer Stadium.

With the slugfest victory, the RedHawks gained a split of the four-game set with Nashville (30-45) and won the season series by a 13-3 margin. The Sounds finished their homestand with a 4-4 record.

Center fielder Logan Schafer hit a pair of home runs as part of a 4-for-5 evening for the Sounds, missing the cycle by a double. It marked the first multiple-homer game of his six-year career as well as the first two-homer effort by a Sound this season.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds beat the Oklahoma City RedHawks for the second day in row with a 2-1 victory on Thursday night at Greer Stadium.

The one-run victory was the club’s PCL-leading 17th of the season. Eleven of the 15 games played between Nashville and Oklahoma City this season have been decided by two runs or less.

Nashville (30-44) was held to four hits, but two went for extra bases and were responsible for both runs. In his fifth rehab game while recovering from a left oblique strain, Travis Ishikawa went 1-for-4 with a double and the go-ahead RBI in the sixth inning.

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds suffered their fifth consecutive defeat on Thursday evening, falling 4-1 to the Oklahoma City RedHawks at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Nashville (20-33) has lost 10 of its 11 games against the RedHawks this season, including each of the last eight meetings between the teams.

The Sounds put runners on base in seven of the nine innings but were able to only plate one run on the night, finishing 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Nashville Sounds drop Wednesday afternoon game to Oklahoma City RedHawks 7-5

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds dropped a 7-5 contest to the visiting Oklahoma City RedHawks on Wednesday afternoon at Greer Stadium in the opener of a four-game set.

RedHawks starter Dallas Keuchel (3-0) threw his third straight quality start to open the season for the win. The left-hander surrendered two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three in seven innings. Keuchel tossed seven scoreless against Nashville earlier this season on April 12th in Oklahoma City.

Nashville Returns To Music City For Home Opener Friday Night

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds were held to five hits by a trio of Oklahoma City pitchers during a 2-0 shutout loss to the RedHawks on Thursday evening at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

With the defeat, Nashville finished its season-opening road trip with a 2-6 record, going 1-3 against both the New Orleans Zephyrs and the Oklahoma City RedHawks.

The Sounds’ lone hits in the contest were singles off the bats of Erick Almonte, Eric Farris, Caleb Gindl, Paul Phillips, and Logan Schafer. Nashville put a runner into scoring position only three times in the contest.

The Sounds (1-4) out-hit their opponent for the fourth time in five games this season, besting the RedHawks seven to five in knocks, but suffered their fourth loss in such contests. Nashville has been held to two runs or less in each of its contests this season.
