TWRA to take part in Operation Dry Water Over July 4th Holiday Weekend

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN –  The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will be participating in Operation Dry Water, July 3rd-5th, 2020. Operation Dry Water is a weekend of education and enforcement about the dangers of impaired boating throughout the state.

The July 4th holiday means an increase in boater activity on the water and there is also an increase in the number on incidents during this time.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The 2020 Memorial Day holiday weekend is upon us and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency wants to emphasize the use of life jackets along with boating in a safe and responsible manner.

The Memorial Day holiday weekend is regarded as the unofficial start to the summer boating season and is one of the year’s busiest boating weekends. Last year, there were no boating-related fatalities during the holiday weekend for the fifth consecutive year.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – With the recreational boating season in full swing, the Clarksville Police Department is ramping up its enforcement efforts as part of a national crackdown on boating under the influence.

The nationwide awareness and enforcement campaign, Operation Dry Water, is a partnership of the Clarksville Police Department, the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and the U.S. Coast Guard with a mission of putting an end to impaired boating.
