Rossview Hawks Football Slay Memphis Central Warriors, 24-7, for First Playoff Win in School History

 

Rossview High School HawksServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – One year ago under head coach Ron Lambert, the Rossview Hawks football team made school history with the best regular season record (9-1).

However, after reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2009, they lost a shootout to Independence, 35-25.

One year later, Lambert and the Hawks made school history again. This time they took advantage of six turnovers to win their first playoff game in school history. The Hawks defeated the Memphis Central Warriors 24-7 Friday night.

Rossview Hawks Football closes regular season with 45-0 victory over Northwest Vikings

 

Rossview High School HawksServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Halloween night was anything but scary for Rossview High School’s football team, as they closed out their regular season with a 45-0 District 10-AAA victory over Northwest High School.

Success on fourth down and Viking turnovers were the early treats for Rossview (7-3, 6-1 District 10-AAA), as it capped off the opening drive of the game with a 35-yard touchdown pass from Muncie Prater to Isaiah Johnson on fourth down to give the Hawks a 7-0 lead, with 8:04 lead in the first quarter.

Rossview High football dominates West Creek in 49-0 District 10-AAA victory

 

Rossview High School HawksServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Isaiah Johnson and Tristin Luke combined for 293 yards rushing and five touchdowns, October 10th, as Rossview High School’s football team had no problems with West Creek High School in a 49-0 District 10-AAA victory.

Johnson, who finished with 193 yards rushing on 28 carries for Rossview (5-3, 4-1 District 10-AAA), scored all three of his touchdowns in the first half, while Luke – who totaled 100 yards on the ground – scored a late touchdown in the second quarter and the only touchdown scored in the second half by either team, coming in the third quarter.

Rossview Hawks rally in second half to down Kenwood Knights 26-18 in 10-AAA showdown

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – After being held in check for most of the opening half, Rossview High School’s football team scored the final three touchdowns of the game, Friday night, October 3rd in their District 10-AAA matchup, versus Kenwood High School to rally for a 26-18 victory.

The Hawks (4-3, 3-1 District 10-AAA) were trailing 18-7, with just 29.3 seconds left in the first half, when they started their rally with a drive starting at the Rossview 43-yard line.

Isaiah Johnson, who finished the night with a game-high 213 yards rushing on 32 carries, snapped off runs of 11-, 12- and five-yards to get down to the Knights 29-yard line, with just under 10 seconds left in the half.

Rossview Hawks run game shreds Stratford Spartans’ defense in 55-12 blowout victory

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Rossview High School’s running attack went through, around and over the Stratford High School defense, Friday, September 12th, with the Hawks totaling 505 yards on the ground in a 55-12 blowout victory over the Spartans.

Isaiah Johnson would lead the way for Rossview (2-2), with the senior running back finished the night with 251 yards on 18 carries – including touchdown runs of 43- and 4-yards.

In fact, his 43-yard run for a score — for a 6-0 lead — was the first touchdown of the night for the Hawks, which came on their second drive of the game after the defense had forced a punt by the Spartans from their eight-yard line.

Rossview High Hawks keep Warfield Shield with 48-3 win over Clarksville High

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Scoring touchdowns on five of its six first-half possessions, September 5th, Rossview High School not only picked up its first win of the season; but also retained the Warfield Shield with a 48-3 District 10-AAA victory over Clarksville High School.

It wouldn’t take long for the Hawks (1-2, 1-0 District 10-AAA) to start their night’s scoring, as they took their opening possession right down the field, 80 yards on six plays, with Isaiah Johnson going in from five yards out to put Rossview up 6-0 just 1:44 into the game – after the extra-point attempt was no good after hitting the upright.

Rossview High School Hawks Football lose to Independence Eagles in First Playoff Game 35-25

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – The stands on both side of the football field at Rossview High School were filled with chilly fans as the Hawks hosted their first playoff game against the Independence Eagles Friday night.

Both teams made multiple mistakes and multiple big plays in an exciting, back-and-forth game, but it was the Eagles who flew away with the win at the end of the night, 35-25.

Rossview High School Hawks Earn Best Record in School History, Defeat Northwest High School Vikings 56-0

 

Rossview High School HawksNorthwest High School VikingsClarksville, TN – The Rossview Hawks defeated the Northwest Vikings 56-0 Friday night, establishing the best regular season record in school history at 9-1. The win capped off their 2013 regular season on a 5-0 win streak.

The Hawks only loss this season came against conference rival, Henry County High School Patriots.

Rossview High High School Football rewrites record book in 67-0 win over Springfield High

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Rossview High School’s football team rewrote its record book October 25th, as the Hawks scored a school-record 67 points in defeated District 10-AAA foe Springfield High School, 67-0.

The Hawks, who also broke into the state’s Associated Press top-10 rankings for the first time — coming in at #10 — also set the school single season record for wins with eight, improving to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in District 10-AAA.

Two late turnovers help Rossview High School Football outlast Kenwood High School in District 10-AAA shootout

 

Rossview High School HawksKenwood High SchoolClarksville, TN – Rossview High School and Kenwood High School combined for 1,161 yards of total offense and 103 points in their District 10-AAA match up, October 4th, but it was two late turnovers by the Knights that proved to be the biggest turning point, as the Hawks came away with a 59-44 victory.

Rossview (6-1, 3-1 District 10-AAA) led Kenwood by 16 points, 52-36, heading into the final quarter; but got it back to a one-score game just 52 second into the final period on a 9-yard run by Knights quarterback Malcolm Perry – who followed with a two-point conversion run, to make it 52-44.
