Nashville Sounds blanked by Memphis Redbirds 10-0 at First Tennessee Park
Dillard struck out Adolis Garcia for the first out in the fourth inning for his only punch out of the night. It was his 352nd career strikeout with the Sounds – matching the all-time franchise record held by Jamie Werly since 1983. Dillard’s mark was the only positive of the night as Memphis hitters otherwise had their way. Nashville Sounds get 9-3 win at Round Rock Express
The win evened the five-game set at one win apiece and snapped the Sounds’ losing streak against Round Rock at five. The Sounds never trailed in the game, as they scored three runs in the second to chase Express starter Cy Sneed. Cole and Zack Granite smashed run-scoring singles, and Patrick Wisdom drew a bases-loaded walk. Nashville Sounds falter at Memphis Redbirds, 7-2
Two runs were scored by the Redbirds in the first inning. Tyler O’Neill hit a single to score Drew Robinson, Adolis Garcia would ground out to score another to make it 2-0 after one inning. Memphis would score a run in the second and third inning each. Nashville Sounds fall to Omaha Storm Chasers 4-2 after rain delay
Both teams waited out a one-hour, 13-minute rain delay prior to first pitch. After the delay, Omaha didn’t waste any time with a pair of runs in the opening frame. Frank Schwindel knocked in the first run of the game with a run-scoring single and Elier Hernandez’s RBI fielder’s choice gave the Storm Chasers a 2-0 lead. Nashville came right back with a run of their own in the bottom half of the opening inning. Nashville Sounds’ Jimmy Nelson Named PCL Pitcher Of The YearNashville Sounds BaseballSounds Hurler Led Minors In ERA Prior To Mid-July Callup
The 25-year-old right-hander dominated the PCL during his three-month stint with the Sounds earlier this season en route to earning a promotion to the Milwaukee Brewers. Entering the year, he had been rated by Baseball America as the organization’s top prospect.
