Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Close games have been the calling cards when the Nashville Sounds and Oklahoma City Dodgers get together and Friday night was no different as the Oklahoma City Dodgers edged the Nashville Sounds 5-4 in 10 innings. 9,868 fans watched the drama unfold at First Tennessee Park. The last eight games between the Sounds and Dodgers have been decided by one run.

After the Dodgers posted three runs in the eighth inning, the Sounds used a three-run rally of their own in the ninth inning to push the game to extras.

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The strikeout bug bit the Nashville Sounds Saturday night as they fell to the Oklahoma City Dodgers 4-2. Sounds batters struck out 16 times to set a new season-high.

The Sounds were unable to muster anything offensively against Oklahoma City starter Dennis Santana. The pitching prospect, making his Triple-A debut, mowed through the Sounds lineup, striking out 11 batters in six innings to match a career-high. Santana’s counterpart on the mound, James Naile, took a tough luck loss after tossing his fourth quality start of the season. He allowed three runs but just one was earned in his seven innings of work. Naile retired the final 10 batters he faced.

Nashville Sounds fall to late Oklahoma City Dodgers rally, 6-5

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Oklahoma City Dodgers spoiled the Independence Day celebration with a come-from-behind 6-5 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of a sellout crowd of 11,764 fans Monday night.

The largest gathering in First Tennessee Park history saw the Dodgers plate a pair of runs with two outs in the top of the ninth after a costly Nashville error.

With two outs in the ninth, and the Sounds (40-43) leading 5-4, Drew Maggi hit a bouncer to third that Yairo Muñoz fielded and fired to first base. Sounds first baseman Jermaine Curtis dropped the ball and the game went on.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Marcus Semien’s first game in a Sounds uniform was a memorable one as he lifted Nashville past Oklahoma City 5-4 with a two-run, walk-off single. The win snapped a seven-game drought against the Dodgers.

The Sounds jumped out to an early lead as Semien, with the team on a rehab assignment from Oakland, scampered home on a wild pitch from Dodgers starter Scott Barlow. Nashville doubled its lead the next inning. Beau Taylor roped a double down the right field line and came home to score when Yairo Munoz lined a pitch back up the middle into center field.

In the top of the fourth inning Oklahoma City cut the lead in half. Willie Calhoun led off with a soft line drive into center field followed by a ground rule double to straight-away center field from Scott Van Slyke.

Nashville Sounds rally late to take Game Three from Oklahoma City Dodgers

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning propelled the Nashville Sounds to a crucial 6-5 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers in front of 6,643 fans Friday night at First Tennessee Park.

With the come-from-behind win, Nashville took control of the best-of-five American Conference Finals with a 2-1 lead. The Sounds have an opportunity to clinch a trip to the Pacific Coast League Championship Series with a win in game four Saturday night at First Tennessee Park.

After building an early 4-0 lead, Nashville’s bullpen squandered away the lead and trailed 5-4 going into the bottom of the eighth.

Oklahoma City Dodgers beat Nashville Sounds 5-2 to even series

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma City Dodgers got home runs from O’Koyea Dickson and Jack Murphy in a series-tying 5-2 win over the Nashville Sounds Thursday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The homers backed a strong performance by Dodgers’ starter Logan Bawcom who limited the Sounds to one run on three hits in six innings.

Nashville’s lone run against Bawcom came right away in the first inning. Franklin Barreto sparked a rally with a one-out double to the gap in right-center.
