The 23-year-old has paced all of Minor League Baseball with 32 home runs this season while driving in a team-high 77 runs. Nuñez is the first Sound to be recognized on the All-PCL team since Joey Wendle in 2015 and fourth in the last five seasons (Jimmy Nelson, 2014 and Johnny Hellweg, 2013).

The Express scored a run in each of the final two innings of the back-and-forth contest to secure the victory and even up the all-time series between the two ball clubs at 104 games apiece. Wendle’s game-winner came just moments after Franklin Barreto started a rally with a two-out walk. The speedster swiped second and third base before trotting home on Wendle’s base hit off Round Rock reliever Tanner Scheppers. The-back-and-forth contest started early with both teams scoring within the first two innings. Joey Wendle started the scoring early when he launched a three-run homer into The Band Box in the bottom of the first inning. The I-Cubs pounced on Zach Neal and the Sounds early and often. Iowa tallied multiple runs in three of the five innings Neal pitched for a total of seven runs. Iowa added a pair of runs off Patrick Schuster in the sixth inning to complete their scoring.
