Austin Peay State University students recreate campus buildings out of graham crackers

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On November 20th, 2019, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Woodward Library hosted its inaugural Graham Cracker Challenge, funded by a Student Academic Success Initiative (SASI) grant. APSU students submitted nine graham cracker structures modeling a building — past or present — on Austin Peay State University’s campus.

Customs House Museum Model Train Crew receives 2018 Gracey Award

Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 19th, 2018 the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center held its annual Flying High fundraiser, which took place at the Clarksville Country Club. It was there that the Gracey Award was presented to the Museum’s Model Train Crew, recognizing all members past and present.

The Gracey Award has been presented annually since 1992 in remembrance of Donald and Finley Gracey, who made a generous bequest in the form of a trust fund to benefit four Clarksville institutions, including the museum.

APSU Phi Kappa Phi chapter awarded literacy grant

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP)—the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines—recently presented John Blake, Austin Peay State University associate professor of engineering technology, with a 2014 Literacy Grant. Blake, president of APSU’s PKP chapter, is one of 14 recipients nationwide to receive the award.

Austin Peay State University Presidential Search Advisory Committee Named

 

First Meeting, Open Forum Scheduled February 17th

Tennessee Board of RegentsNashville, TN – The Search Advisory Committee members for a new president of Austin Peay State University have been selected and will meet for the first time on February 17th following a public forum on the APSU campus about the search process.

The advisory committee will meet at 12:45pm Monday, February 17th, on the APSU campus in the Morgan University Center Ballroom. APSU Phi Kappa Phi Chapter awarded top distinction

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) at Austin Peay State University is one of 19 chapters in the nation to earn the Chapter of Excellence distinction for 2012-13.

APSU’s achievement was formally announced by the national PKP headquarters in Baton Rouge, LA. APSU was awarded this national distinction in 2011 as well. Other chapters in the nation were honored with the Chapter of Merit award.

For the 10th consecutive Halloween, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) at APSU is collecting new and gently used children’s books for its Candy for the Mind project. Members of the campus and local community are invited to support this effort through donations of books or funds for the purchase of books.

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – For the ninth consecutive Halloween, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) at Austin Peay State University is collecting new and gently used children’s books for its Candy for the Mind project. Members of the campus and local community are invited to support this effort through donations of books or funds for the purchase of books.
