Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – After going on a franchise-record-matching 15-game winning streak, the Nashville Sounds have now matched a season-long losing streak as they dropped their fourth straight game Saturday night to the New Orleans Baby Cakes 6-5. 10,739 fans came out to First Tennessee Park to witness the action.

Five Sounds pitchers combined to walk nine-batters to set a new single-game season-high.

After four solid innings, Sounds starter Jesus Luzardo ran into trouble in the fifth. The 20-year-old walked three batters on the night, all of which came in the fifth inning. He fanned six batters in the game while allowing just three hits.

Nashville Sounds hold off Colorado Springs Sky Sox for 3-2 Win

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – The Nashville Sounds’ win streak reached 12 on Saturday night, as they held on and beat the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 3-2 at Security Service Field. Daniel Mengden tossed 6 1/3 innings, Anthony Garcia drove in all three runs, and Liam Hendriks logged another save. The Sounds have not trailed at any point in their last six games.

For the third time in the series, the Sounds took a quick lead. In the top of the first, Steve Lombardozzi and Dustin Fowler singled, and Garcia brought them home with a single for a 2-0 game.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds continued their winning ways Saturday night as they upended the Sacramento River Cats 3-1 in front of 10,811 fans at First Tennessee Park. The Sounds have now won six games in a row to set a new season-long winning streak.

Chris Bassitt put in a sterling effort on the mound for the Sounds as the right-hander matched a career-high by spinning eight innings of one-run baseball. He yielded just three hits and fanned six in his eight innings of work.

Nashville SoundsLas Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas 51s came from behind to defeat the Nashville Sounds 6-3 in 10 innings Wednesday night at Cashman Field. Zach Borenstein’s walk-off three-run home run in the 10th inning evened the three-game series.

Two rarities occurred Wednesday night in Sin City. The game saw a pitcher’s duel at hitter-friendly Cashman Field and featured a 19-minute rain delay in the middle of the second inning. Nashville’s Daniel Mengden went seven innings and allowed just two runs, one earned on three hits while striking out four. It was the second night in a row the Sounds starting pitcher lasted seven innings. Mengden’s counterpart, Chris Flexen also yielded just a pair of runs in seven innings of work.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN -The Nashville Sounds upended the Oklahoma City Dodgers 8-5 Sunday night in front of 10,697 fans at First Tennessee Park to salvage a series split. Sheldon Neuse drove in four runs on two extra-base hits in the victory.

The Nashville Sounds handed Oklahoma City’s Manny Bañuelos his worst outing of the year as they tagged the All-Star for a season-high seven runs, all earned. The runs came in bunches as the Sounds scored multiple runs in three different innings against Bañuelos. Nashville’s James Naile logged his ninth quality start of the season as he went 6 1/3 innings and gave up five runs but just three were earned.

Nashville Sounds split doubleheader with Oklahoma City Dodgers

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds and Oklahoma City Dodgers split a doubleheader in front of a sellout crowd 11,130 fans at First Tennessee Park Saturday night.

After falling 6-1 in game one, the Sounds returned the favor with a 4-0 win in game two. Liam Hendriks, Dean Kiekhefer, Ryan Dull and Josh Lucas combined to shut out the Dodgers on five hits.

Hendriks started for the first time this year and tossed two innings before being relieved by Kiekhefer. The southpaw tossed three scoreless innings and picked up his sixth win of the season. Dull struck out the side in the sixth before handing it over to Lucas who finished the win.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The bats went quiet for the Nashville Sounds as they fell to the Omaha Storm Chasers 2-0 Wednesday night in front of 7,914 fans at First Tennessee Park.

Nashville’s Chris Bassitt and Omaha’s Jake Kalish went toe-to-toe on the mound, each looking sharp in their seven innings of work.

In the end it was Kalish’s Storm Chasers who emerged victorious as the southpaw allowed just two hits in his seven shutout innings while fanning nine batters. Bassitt took the tough-luck loss as he matched a season-high by tossing seven innings. For Bassitt it was his second quality start of the season.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Starter James Naile fired seven innings of one-run ball to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 5-1 win over the Reno Aces in front of 6,973 fans at First Tennessee Park Wednesday night.

Naile picked up his team-high fifth win of the season and dropped his ERA to 3.57 as he scattered five hits over his seven frames. He did not walk a batter and struck out five.

The right-hander’s strong effort was backed by big offensive nights from Jake Smolinski and Sheldon Neuse. Smolinski drilled his seventh home run of the season and finished 3-for-4 while Neuse added a season-high three hits.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Steve Lombardozzi’s walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Nashville Sounds to a 3-2 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers in front of 7,105 fans at First Tennessee Park Monday afternoon.

Lombardozzi hit the first pitch he saw from Adam Liberatore down the left field line and off the wall to easily score Jake Smolinski from third. The inning began with a sharp single to left field by Smolinski and continued when Beau Taylor was hit by a Liberatore pitch.

Sheldon Neuse dropped down a sacrifice bunt to put runners at second and third with one out.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds closed an eight-game homestand with a 4-3 win over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in front of 9,084 fans at First Tennessee Park Friday night.

The scoring happened early as the Sky Sox plated three runs in the first, and the Sounds bounced back with all four of their runs in the second.

Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the second, the first five batters reached safely for Nashville. Josh Phegley walked, and back-to-back singles by Sheldon Neuse and Slade Heathcott loaded the bases for Jorge Mateo. The shortstop ripped a two-run double down the left field line to make it a 3-2 game.
