It was an early deficit for Nashville in the first inning when Oklahoma City put up three runs in the top half. Connor Joe doubled down the left field line to score Gavin Lux from first base. Keibert Ruiz hit a single to score Joe. San Antonio Missions slide past Nashville Sounds, 6-5
Grisham’s blast was off Nashville reliever Miguel Del Pozo and came with one out in the frame. It snapped a 5-5 tie in what was a back-and-forth game all night. Neither team got length from their starting pitcher as Pedro Payano threw 79 pitches in 2 2/3 innings for the Sounds and Drew Smyly threw 83 pitches in 3 2/3 innings for the Missions. Nashville Sounds rally late to beat New Orleans Baby Cakes, 3-2
The first run of the game was scored by New Orleans in the first inning. Magneuris Sierra led the game off with a single and scored on an Eddy Alvarez double to put the Baby Cakes up 1-0. Tim Dillard was dominant after the first inning. He struck out a season-high nine batters through six innings. The Redbirds scored first with two runs in the top of the first inning. The first run was scored on a balk by Joe Palumbo. Andrew Knizner hit an RBI single to get the second run in.
