Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds take down the Oklahoma City Dodgers 7-5 at First Tennessee Park Thursday night. Nick Solak hit his fourth home run of the season and his 21st in Triple-A this season.

It was an early deficit for Nashville in the first inning when Oklahoma City put up three runs in the top half. Connor Joe doubled down the left field line to score Gavin Lux from first base. Keibert Ruiz hit a single to score Joe. DJ Peters scored on a Kyle Garlick sacrifice fly to score the third run of the inning.

Oklahoma City Dodgers slay Nashville Sounds, 16-1

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Oklahoma City Dodgers rolled over the Nashville Sounds Tuesday night 16-1 at First Tennessee Park.

Oklahoma City hitters launched five home runs off Nashville pitching, including four off starter Austin Bibens-Dirkx. Trouble started in the first inning when Bibens-Dirkx walked the first three batters of the game. DJ Peters knocked in two runs with a base hit up the middle and Kyle Garlick hit the first home run of the night – a two-run shot to right-center to make it 4-0.

The Dodgers powered up again in the second with back-to-back home runs. Gavin Lux drilled a two-run blast to right-center and Will Smith followed with a solo homer to extend the lead to 7-0.

Nashville Sounds, Oklahoma City Dodgers game stopped because of rain

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The top of the fourth inning was completed when rain fell at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark forcing the Nashville Sounds game against Oklahoma City Dodgers to be suspended. Oklahoma City was up 4-0 before the game was stopped.

All four runs by the Dodgers were scored in the bottom of the third inning. With runners on first and second, Matt Beaty singled to score Drew Jackson. Kyle Garlick doubled to score Daniel Castro and Beaty. Edwin Rios singled to score Garlick and put the score at 4-0.

Nashville Sounds suffer 7-3 loss at Oklahoma City Dodgers

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds saw a late lead evaporate in a 7-3 loss to Oklahoma City Dodgers Thursday afternoon at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The team’s winning streak was snapped at four games with the loss.

The Sounds scored first and held leads of 1-0, 3-1, and 3-2 as late as the seventh inning, but the Dodgers scored the final six runs of the game.

Red-hot Zack Granite started the game with a base hit to left field and promptly took second base on left fielder Kyle Garlick’s error. Two batters later, Granite came in to score the first run of the game on a double play ball.

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds stranded a season-high 13 runners on base and went 0-for-14 with runners in scoring position as they dropped their road trip finale to the Oklahoma City Dodgers 11-2 Sunday afternoon.

A pitching duel was brewing through the first three innings but the Oklahoma City Dodgers scored in each of the middle three innings while the Sounds squandered their chances to light up the scoreboard. The Sounds left the bases loaded in both the fifth and seventh innings and went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts with the all three bases occupied.

Nashville Sounds fall to Oklahoma City Dodgers, 4-2

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The strikeout bug bit the Nashville Sounds Saturday night as they fell to the Oklahoma City Dodgers 4-2. Sounds batters struck out 16 times to set a new season-high.

The Sounds were unable to muster anything offensively against Oklahoma City starter Dennis Santana. The pitching prospect, making his Triple-A debut, mowed through the Sounds lineup, striking out 11 batters in six innings to match a career-high. Santana’s counterpart on the mound, James Naile, took a tough luck loss after tossing his fourth quality start of the season. He allowed three runs but just one was earned in his seven innings of work. Naile retired the final 10 batters he faced.
