Nashville, TN – The Sounds fought back late and tied it up, but Round Rock exploded for six runs in the 10th inning to take the series finale on Monday night at First Tennessee Park, 8-2.
The Sounds split the four-game series with Round Rock and fell to 2-2 in extra innings this season. The six runs in the 10th inning were the most allowed by Nashville pitchers this year.
Pitching did dominate the early part of the finale though. Round Rock grabbed a run in the first and one in the sixth, both off Sounds’ starter Kendall Graveman.

Nashville, TN – Behind a monster six-run fourth inning where the home team batted around, the Nashville Sounds defeated the Round Rock Express, 8-6, Friday night at First Tennessee Park.
The Express got out to an early lead in this one. Hanser Alberto dropped a bunt single and went to third via a perfectly executed hit-and-run with Tomas Telis. Alberto then scored on an RBI groundout by Michael Choice and the Sounds were trailing just minutes into the contest.
Jason Pridie Smacks His Team-Leading Third Home Run Of The Season
Round Rock, TX – Through 8.2 innings on Saturday night at Dell Diamond, the Nashville Sounds never trailed. Unfortunately, they could not retire that final out and the Round Rock Express walked-off with a 5-4 victory.
The Sounds got out to an early lead. In the top of the first, Ryan Roberts (3-for-4) singled and Kent Matthes (1-for-5) scored courtesy of an interference error on Express third baseman Trever Adams. With the run, the Sounds are now outscoring their opponents 18-4 in the first frame of games.

Third Baseman Jason Rogers Goes Yard Three Times in 12 Innings
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds (66-56) completed a doubleheader sweep over the Round Rock Express on Sunday night at Greer Stadium, largely in part to third baseman Jason Rogers, who had three home runs and 9 RBIs on the night.
In the opener, Rogers belted a pair of homers and drove in a career-high six RBIs to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 13-4 win over the visiting Round Rock Express.

Nashville’s Jason Rogers Goes 3-for-4 With Home Run and Three RBIs
Nashville, TN – The first-place Nashville Sounds (51-47) failed to complete a three-game series sweep over the Round Rock Express Sunday night, losing the finale 6-4 at Greer Stadium.
Infielder Jason Rogers powered the Sounds’ offense, going 3-for-4 and delivering the game-tying three-run home run in the 5th inning, but the Sounds would not score again.
Nashville, TN – The Sacramento River Cats took their third straight game from the Nashville Sounds, prevailing 8-4 on Monday evening at Greer Stadium.
River Cats starter Bruce Billings (3-2) turned in a quality start to post the victory, striking out eight batters while allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits over six innings of action. It marked the right-hander’s third quality start in his last four outings.
Tyler Thornburg Fans Season-High 10 For Nashville In Defeat
Nashville, TN – Middle Tennessee native Sonny Gray threw six shutout innings to lead the Sacramento River Cats to a 5-2 victory over the Nashville Sounds in front of a near-capacity crowd of 9,201 fans on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium.
Gray (4-1), who grew up in nearby Smyrna, Tennessee and later starred at Vanderbilt, pitched as a professional for the first time in his hometown and authored a quality-start win for the third straight outing. The 23-year-old held the Sounds to three hits while striking out a season-high eight batters and walking five in his six scoreless frames.
