Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX  – The Nashville Sounds’ offense never got going in a 2-0 loss to the Round Rock Express Tuesday night at Dell Diamond.

Nashville’s 10-game road trip started with a thud as the offense produced only three hits – all singles. Sheldon Neuse had a base hit in the second, Jorge Mateo singled in the third and Dustin Fowler had a single in the sixth.

The Sounds had only two innings when they put a runner in scoring position.

Nashville Sounds come up short against Round Rock Express

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds squandered numerous opportunities on offense as they were edged by the Round Rock Express 3-2 Thursday night at First Tennessee Park. The Sounds went 1-for-19 with runners in scoring position on the night.

Daniel Mengden was once again outstanding for the Sounds. The right-hander twirled his fifth quality start in his last six with six shutout innings of four-hit baseball. He walked one and fanned six on the night. Offensively the Sounds scattered eight hits but were unable to cross the plate against Round Rock starter Adrian Sampson in his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Nashville Honky Tonks fall to Round Rock Dance Halls at First Tennessee Park, 5-2

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN -The Nashville Honky Tonks wrapped up the 2018 Battle for the Boot series with a 5-2 defeat Sunday night at the hands of the Round Rock Dance Halls.

Round Rock’s Drew Robinson picked up right where he left off from Saturday’s game. Robinson slugged a game-tying two-out home run Saturday night and then crushed an 0-2 pitch beyond The Band Box to lead off Sunday’s ballgame.

The Honky Tonks responded in the home half of the frame. Jorge Mateo singled and swiped second base. Four batters later he came around to score on a play that saw two errors committed by Round Rock shortstop Cliff Pennington.

Colorado Springs Sky Sox nab 9-8 win over Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – In a game with plenty of fireworks on Independence Day it was the Colorado Springs Sky Sox who emerged victorious over the Nashville Sounds 9-8 Tuesday night. The two teams combined for 17 runs on 24 hits but it was a costly error in the bottom of the eighth inning that pushed the Sky Sox over the top.

With the score tied 8-8, one out, and a runner on second base for the Sky Sox in the bottom of the eighth inning, Lewis Brinson grounded a ball to Sounds shortstop Marcus Semien. Semien collected the ball smoothly but air-mailed the throw over the head of first baseman Matt McBride to put runners on the corners.

Nashville Sounds Khris Davis homers in the 11th Inning to beat Fresno Grizzlies 7-5

 

Red-Hot Outfielder Extends Hit Streak To 16 With 3-for-6 Effort

Nashville SoundsFresno, CA – Red-hot outfielder Khris Davis belted a homer in the top of the eleventh inning  to propel the Nashville Sounds to a 7-5 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies on Wednesday evening at Chukchansi Park in the opener of a four-game series.

The triumph was the Sounds’ third consecutive last at-bat victory and was Nashville’s tenth extra-inning game this season (5-5 in those contests).
