Nashville, TN – The Omaha Storm Chasers scored two runs in the ninth inning thanks to shaky defense and a handful of walks and grabbed a 6-4 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of a sellout crowd of 10,072 Saturday night at First Tennessee Park.
After being no-hit for the first six innings, the Sounds (55-46) put together multiple rallies to even the game in the later innings only to come up short.
Former Sounds pitcher Nick Tepesch, who was designated for assignment by Oakland less than two weeks ago, started for Omaha (44-55) and stymied his former teammates.
El Paso, TX – A season-high five home runs helped the Nashville Sounds to a series-opening 13-3 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Thursday night at Southwest University Park.
Renato Nunez, Matt Olson, Joey Wendle, Jaycob Brugman and Bruce Maxwell all clubbed homers as the Sounds pounded out 19 hits in the lopsided win to begin the unofficial start of the second half.
Already with a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Renato Nunez belted the first homer of the game to extend the lead to 3-0. His two-run shot to left scored Max Muncy who knocked in the first run of the game with a base hit to right field.
Memphis, TN – The Memphis Redbirds and Michael McKenry’s walk-off home run provided the last laugh in a 7-6 win over the Nashville Sounds Wednesday night at AutoZone Park.
McKenry’s game-winning solo blast with two outs in the bottom of the ninth came just moments after Max Muncy tied the game with a two-run homer in the top of the ninth.
With the Sounds (48-39) trailing 6-4, Muncy was summoned as a pinch-hitter for Carson Blair. With Joey Wendle leading from second base, Muncy hit an opposite field shot to even the game at 6-6 with one out in the top of the ninth.
Memphis, TN – The Nashville Sounds ended their five game losing streak in fashion by clubbing three home runs to take an 8-2 win over the Memphis Redbirds Tuesday night from AutoZone Park.
Chad Pinder, Ryon Healy, and Bruce Maxwell each homered to pace the Sounds to the win. Healy would finish a triple away from the cycle as the Sounds designated hitter went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and an RBI double to plate half of the Sounds eight runs.
Sounds starter Dillon Overton was brilliant in his return to the club as he went six innings allowing just two runs on seven hits. He picked up his eighth straight win as a Sound and his ninth of the season.
Nashville, TN – The Oklahoma City Dodgers got a dynamite performance from starter Jharel Cotton in a 9-6 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of 8,538 fans Friday night at First Tennessee Park.
Cotton allowed two unearned runs on just two hits in six innings. The right-hander struck out nine batters on the way to his seventh win of the season.
Oklahoma City’s Rob Segedin started his 4-for-4 night with a base hit to right-center to start the second inning. He moved to third on O’Koyea Dickson’s double and then scored on a groundout by Zach Walters.
Nashville, TN – The Oklahoma City Dodgers’ steady offense led to a 7-3 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of a sellout crowd of 10,023 Thursday night at First Tennessee Park.
In a battle of first place teams in the PCL’s American Conference, Oklahoma City grabbed game one of the four-game series thanks to scoring in five different innings.
The trouble started right away for Nashville’s Angel Castro. Micah Johnson opened the game with a double to the left field wall against the Sounds’ starter. Corey Brown knocked him in with a groundout to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead before the Sounds came to the plate.
Oklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds clubbed three home runs and had four RBI doubles in a 10-0 rout of the Oklahoma City Dodgers Friday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Nashville scored at least one run from the fourth inning through the sixth to earn the Sounds second shutout victory of the year.
The Sounds broke through first with a two-out RBI double to left by Jaycob Brugman scoring Joey Wendle from first to give the Sounds the early 1-0 lead.

Salt Lake City, NV – Matt Olson batted home the Sounds first four runs in the game Monday afternoon from Smith’s Ballpark. Olson launched a three-run homer in the fourth to lead the Sounds passed the Bees in an 8-3 win.
Sounds starter Daniel Mengden pitched the Sounds 15th quality start in the month of May for the Sounds in Mengden’s third win as a Sound. Mengden allowed two runs for just the second time this season and his first with Nashville. The-right hander went 6.1 innings allowing three runs, two of which were earned, on six hits.
Muncy extends hitting streak to Eight Games on Three-Run Homer
Round Rock, TX – Max Muncy blasted a three-run homer and Matt Olson clubbed a solo shot and the Sounds cruised to a 7-3 win over the Round Rock Express Thursday night in game one of the four-game series from Dell Diamond.
Sounds starter Chris Smith picked up his first win pitching 5 2/3 innings and allowed just three runs with only one earned, gave up five hits, and struck out nine falling just one short of tying his career-high 10 strikeouts.
The Sounds wasted no time putting the first run on the board in the top of the first as Chad Pinder sent a sac fly to right to score Joey Wendle, who tripled to center to lead-off the game, and the Sounds led 1-0.
