Pinehurst, NC – Although it didn’t receive the ending it was seeking, APSU men’s golf team gained a Top 5 finish, Sunday, in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The Austin Peay State University Governors shot a final-round 298 to finish at 884 and took fourth place in the three-day event at Pinehurst No. 8.

APSU Men’s Golf sits in third after first day at Pinehurst Intercollegiate

Pinehurst, NC – With senior Chris Baker leading the way, Friday, Austin Peay State University’s golf team was in third place after shooting 293 on Day 1 of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate, being played at the 6,937-yard, par-71 Pinehurst No. 8.
Baker shot an even-par 71, with birdie and one bogey to go with 16 pars during a solid Friday round. He is tied for third overall.

Hilton Head Island, SC – Not a lot of birdies were to be found by Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, Tuesday, in the final round of 11th Annual Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, played at the Wexford Plantation Course.

Austin Peay State University Men’s Golf goes south of border for 2014-15 recruit Luis Navarrete

Clarksville, TN – When Kirk Kayden took over Austin Peay State University’s golf program in 2004, he inherited Yoshio Yamamoto, who became a three-time All-Ohio Valley Conference golfer.
Now Kayden has gone south of the border to sign Yamamoto’s protégé, with the addition of Luis Navarrete, of Guadalajara, Mexico, for the 2014-15 season.
