Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds trailed from start to finish en route to a 9-3 defeat at the hands of the Omaha Storm Chasers Tuesday night. The Sounds dropped to 64-70 on the season with the loss.

The Sounds were unable to take advantage of five walks from Omaha starter, Christian Binford and left the bases loaded without plating a run in each of the first two innings. In total they left 11 runners stranded and went just 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

Omaha took a 2-0 lead with help from the Sounds defense. In the first inning Frank Schwindel dribbled a ground ball to third base for a potential double play but the ball was thrown away by Sounds second baseman Franklin Barreto, allowing a run to score.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Omaha Storm Chasers scored a run in the 13th inning to edge the Nashville Sounds, 3-2, at First Tennessee Park Monday night.

The four-hour, 14-minute marathon came to an end when the Storm Chasers put together a rally after both teams were held off the scoreboard since the sixth inning.

With Nashville’s Patrick Schuster on the mound, Cam Gallagher singled to right-center to start it. Hunter Dozier doubled to the gap in right-center to put runners at second and third for Billy Burns who put Omaha on top with a run-scoring groundout.

Nashville Sounds errors costly in 4-2 loss to Omaha Storm Chasers

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NB – A pair of errors from Sounds second baseman, Joey Wendle, cost Nashville dearly as the Omaha Storm Chasers eked out a 4-2 victory Thursday night. The loss meant a series split for the Sounds who were seeking a third consecutive series win.

The first error of the evening from Wendle came in the first inning as he was playing in shallow right field with the shift on against left handed hitting first baseman Ryan O’Hearn was at the plate. The error allowed Ruben Sosa to come around to score to put Omaha out in front.

Nashville responded with a run of its own in the next half inning as Renato Nunez doubled to begin the frame, advanced to third on a Matt Chapman single, and scored on a sacrifice fly from Jaff Decker.

Nashville Sounds fall 8-3 to Omaha Storm Chasers at First Tennessee Park

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Omaha Storm Chasers used extra innings to beat the Nashville Sounds, 8-3, in front of a sellout crowd of 10,253 at First Tennessee Park Friday night.

The 11th inning win overshadowed a stellar performance by Storm Chasers pitcher Jake Junis. The right-hander shutout the Sounds (23-22) over seven innings and limited Nashville to two hits while racking up a season-high 12 strikeouts in the no-decision.

Junis’ outing went for naught when the Sounds rallied in the eighth and ninth innings. Trailing 3-0, Joey Wendle sparked the first rally with a leadoff double in the eighth. Two batters later, Jaff Decker singled to right field to trim the deficit to 3-1.

Omaha Storm Chasers beat Nashville Sounds with two ninth inning runs

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Omaha Storm Chasers scored two runs in the ninth inning thanks to shaky defense and a handful of walks and grabbed a 6-4 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of a sellout crowd of 10,072 Saturday night at First Tennessee Park.

After being no-hit for the first six innings, the Sounds (55-46) put together multiple rallies to even the game in the later innings only to come up short.

Former Sounds pitcher Nick Tepesch, who was designated for assignment by Oakland less than two weeks ago, started for Omaha (44-55) and stymied his former teammates.
