Sounds Drop Road Trip Finale, 5-3

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma City RedHawks rallied from an early deficit then held on to record a 5-3 victory over the Nashville Sounds on Friday evening at RedHawks Field in the finale of a four-game series.

Oklahoma City gained a split of the four-game set against the Sounds (52-55) and earned a 9-7 win in the season series against Nashville.

Sounds batters had plenty of opportunities in the contest but finished just 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position on the night, leaving 12 runners on base.

Sounds Beat Down RedHawks, 13-2, On Thursday In Oklahoma City

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – Taylor Green homered twice while tying a franchise record five runs scored in a 13-2 victory over the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Thursday evening at RedHawks Field.

Finishing the evening with a career night, Green went a perfect 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double, and two walks while driving in six runs. Green became the third player in the franchise’s 34-year history and second player this season to score five runs in a game, joining Adrian Brown (May 12th, 1999 at Tucson) and teammate Erick Almonte (July 5th, 2011 vs. Memphis).

Sounds’ Road Win Streak Ends With 6-3 Loss In Oklahoma City

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma City RedHawks hung a 6-3 defeat on the Nashville Sounds on Wednesday evening at RedHawks Field.

The loss brought a close to the Sounds’ seven-game road winning streak, which was the club’s best effort away from Greer Stadium this season.

Nashville didn’t score a run in the contest until there were two outs in the top of the ninth inning, when the Sounds plated three runs against the RedHawks bullpen before the rally ultimately fell short.

Sounds Win Exciting Road Opener At Oklahoma City In Extras, 11-9

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – First baseman Erick Almonte crushed a two-run double in the top of the 10th inning to power the Nashville Sounds to a come-from-behind 11-9 victory over the Oklahoma City RedHawks in the opener of a four-game set on Tuesday night.

Scoring six runs in the final three innings, Nashville (51-53) moved to 3-9 in extra-inning play while picking up its 11th last-at win of the season (second on the road). It was also the Sounds’ eighth come-from-behind win while trailing in the seventh inning or later.

Sounds Swept After Another Last At-Bat Defeat

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – Pinch-hitter Brian Dopirak knocked a game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Oklahoma City RedHawks a 4-3 win over the Nashville Sounds on Thursday night at RedHawks Field.

Oklahoma City scored four unanswered runs in the final three innings to take a four-game series sweep from Nashville (9-17), which has now been swept twice in the last three series and dropped 15 of the last 19 games overall.

Anderson Hernandez hit a leadoff single off Justin James (0-2), moved to second on a sacrifice, and came home to score the game-winning run on Dopirak’s double.

Sounds Lose 12-4 To RedHawks On Tuesday

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds were handed a 12-4 loss by the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Tuesday Night at RedHawks Field in the second game of a four-game series.

The 12 runs given up were the most that Nashville (9-15) has allowed this season, which has now dropped 13 of the last 17 contests overall.

Oklahoma City jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, as the RedHawks took advantage of Chase Wright’s control. Wright hit a batter and walked four more while the RedHawks scored their first run on a wild pitch from the southpaw. The next four runs came on a Collin DeLome grand slam over the right field wall. The long ball was Delome’s second of the season and the first grand slam given up by the Sounds this season.

Sounds Open Road Trip With 2-1 Loss

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – Three Oklahoma City pitchers held the Sounds to only two hits in the RedHawks’ 2-1 victory over Nashville on Monday evening at RedHawks Field in the opener of a four-game series.

Left-hander Douglas Arguello (2-1) picked up the win for Oklahoma City by hurling a quality start, holding Nashville to one run on two hits while fanning five in his six frames of action.

Fernando Rodriguez followed with two hitless innings, striking out three, before Jose Valdez closed out the win with a scoreless ninth for the RedHawks to earn his third save.
