Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Efren Navarro hit a sacrifice fly to plate Kole Calhoun in the top of the 12th inning to give the Salt Lake Bees a 5-4 win over the Nashville Sounds in the finale of a four-game series on Monday night at Greer Stadium.

Calhoun (4-for-6) doubled to begin the frame, moved to third on a single, and scored the winning run on the long fly ball from Navarro.

Nashville split the four-game series, while three of the four contests between the clubs were decided by one run.

Brian Baker Tosses Five Scoreless Frames For Nashville In No-Decision

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Efren Navarro drove in a pair of runs to power the visiting Salt Lake Bees to a 2-1 victory over the Nashville Sounds on Sunday evening at Greer Stadium.

Salt Lake right-hander Garrett Richards (6-3) turned in a solid start for the Bees to earn the victory, holding Nashville to one run on five hits while striking out seven batters over 8 1/3 innings.

Sounds starter Brian Baker continued his recent string of outstanding pitching performances with five scoreless innings but Salt Lake scored two runs against the Nashville bullpen to claim the victory.

Ten-Run Seventh Gives Sounds Exciting Comeback Victory And Series Sweep Of Reno

 

Nashville SoundsReno, NV – The Nashville Sounds completed a four-game series sweep of the Reno Aces, thanks to a 10-run seventh inning rally in an 11-9 victory on Wednesday afternoon at Aces Ballpark.

With the win, The Sounds (60-59) finished 6-2 on the eight-game road trip through Colorado Springs and Reno and are posting a winning record for the first time since April 17th when they were 6-5.

The sweep was the third sweep of the season for the Sounds. Nashville previously swept New Orleans from June 25th-28th at Greer Stadium and Iowa from July 18th-21st at Principal Park. The Sounds were also swept by Reno at Aces Ballpark last season, their only meeting in 2010.

Sounds put up Five in First, Defeat Reno 5-3

 

Fiers Earns Fifth Win In Five Starts For Nashville

Nashville SoundsReno, NV – The Nashville Sounds continued to flourish in road action on Tuesday evening at Aces Ballpark, posting a 5-3 victory over Reno.

With the win, the Sounds (59-59) drew back to the .500 mark for the first time since April 22nd, when they were 8-8.

Nashville, which has won 13 of its last 17 contests away from Greer Stadium, has taken the first three games of the series against the Pacific Northern Division-leading Aces and will attempt to complete their third sweep of the year on Wednesday.

First baseman Mat Gamel drove in three of the Sounds’ five runs with a first-inning homer, while center fielder Logan Schafer (2-for-4) was one of three Nashville hitters to post a multiple-hit effort in the victory. Schafer continued his solid start to his Triple-A career; he has hit safely in 18 of his 19 PCL games, including 12 multi-hit efforts.

Sounds Lose Series Opener In Tacoma, 5-3

 

Nashville SoundsTacoma, WA – The Tacoma Rainiers belted three home runs en route to a 5-3 victory over the Nashville Sounds on Monday evening at Cheney Stadium in the opener of a four-game series.

The Sounds (17-26) jumped out to an early lead, plating a pair of unearned runs against Tacoma starter Fabio Castro in the top of the first inning following a fielding error by shortstop Sean Kazmar. Catcher George Kottaras continued his recent hot hitting by delivering a two-out, two-run single in the frame.
