Nashville Sounds rally in the night for 8-6 win over Fresno Grizzles

 

Nashville SoundsFresno, CA – On Thursday night, the Nashville Sounds broke lose in the ninth inning breaking the 6-6 tie by pushing two runs across the plate for an 8-6 win over the Fresno Grizzlies at Chukchansi Park.

The Sounds cruised most of the night. They belted four doubles in the first inning against Scott Copeland and led 4-0 right away. Zack Granite, Andy Ibanez and Ronald Guzman had consecutive doubles to start the game, and Christian Lopes smashed a two-run double later in the frame. Then Patrick Wisdom blasted a solo homer in the third to make it 5-0. Wisdom, who also homered twice on Wednesday, has homered in four consecutive games.

Nashville Sounds rally to beat New Orleans Baby Cakes 3-2

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – An eighth inning flurry of hits helped the Nashville Sounds get past the New Orleans Baby Cakes 3-2 Friday night.

Renato Nuñez tripled just inside the first base bag and down into the right field corner to spark the rally. Joey Wendle ripped a base hit to right field to plate Nuñez and put the Sounds on top for good.

Chris Carter followed Wendle’s single with a base knock of his own but Nashville was unable to add an insurance run.

Nashville SoundsNew Orleans, LA – The Nashville Sounds’ offense never got rolling in a 6-0 loss to the New Orleans Baby Cakes Sunday afternoon at Shrine on Airline in New Orleans.

Starter Scott Copeland tossed six shutout innings and two New Orleans relievers combined for the final three innings to send the Sounds to their ninth shutout loss of the year.

Timely hitting gave the Baby Cakes an early 1-0 lead in the second when Brandon Barnes’ two-out double was followed by a run-scoring base hit by Cal Towey.

Nashville Sounds game at New Orleans Baby Cakes postponed Due to Rain

 

Doubleheader to be Played September 2nd

Nashville SoundsNew Orleans, LA – Saturday’s game between the Nashville Sounds and New Orleans Baby Cakes has been postponed due to rain at Shrine on Airline in New Orleans.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, September 2nd when the Sounds return to New Orleans on the final weekend of the season. Game one of the doubleheader will start at 4:00pm CST.

The two teams will continue the series Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm.

Nashville Sound crank four homers in 7-5 win over New Orleans Baby Cakes

Nashville SoundsNew Orleans, LA – The Nashville Sounds launched four home runs and got a solid performance from starter Chris Jensen en route to a 7-5 win over the New Orleans Baby Cakes Friday night in New Orleans.

Franklin Barreto got the party started immediately when he drilled the first pitch of the game from William Cuevas over the center field wall for a leadoff home run and 1-0 lead for Nashville.

Ryan Lavarnway, Chad Pinder, and Yairo Munoz added solo blasts for the Sounds (47-52). The four homers are the second-most for Nashville in a single game this season.

Nashville Sounds blast New Orleans Baby Cakes 10-4 at First Tennessee Park

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The offense exploded and the pitching was superb as the Nashville Sounds smashed the New Orleans Baby Cakes, 10-2, in front of a sellout crowd of 10,672 fans at First Tennessee Park Saturday night.

The scoring was fast and furious for Nashville (9-11) as Renato Nuñez started the flurry with a solo homer to lead off the second inning. It was Nuñez’s fourth home run of the season.

It continued in the third when Matt Olson roped a two-out, two-run single to right field to make it a 3-0 game. Olson had a huge night at the plate, finishing 4-for-5 with three singles, a double, and a run scored.
