Nashville Sounds Walk Off Again to beat Omaha Storm Chasers 5-4 and get Fourth Straight Win

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Corey Patterson delivered a walk-off double in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Nashville Sounds a 5-4 victory over the division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers on Wednesday afternoon at Greer Stadium.

With two outs, second baseman Eric Farris reached on an infield single and hurried around the bases as Patterson lined his second double of the game to the wall in right center for the club’s fourth straight victory.

Nashville Loses 5-2, Splits Series With Division-Leading Omaha

 

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – The Nashville Sounds closed out their road trip with a 5-2 loss to the division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers on Tuesday evening at Werner Park.

With the loss, Nashville (66-65) split the series with Omaha and lost the season series between the clubs by an 11-5 margin.

Omaha starting pitcher Sean O’Sullivan (8-2) recorded his best pitching performance of the season for the Storm Chasers. The right-hander tossed seven scoreless frames while striking out eight and walking none for the victory. It was also his sixth quality start in his last seven outings.

Sounds Take Down Division-Leading Storm Chasers In 11 Innings

 

Wily Peralta Turns In Another Outstanding Start For Nashville

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – The Nashville Sounds plated four runs in the top of the eleventh inning to record a 7-3 victory over the division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers on Monday evening at Werner Park.

With the win, the Sounds (65-64) improved to 4-9 in extra-inning play on the year and pulled back within 6 ½ games of the Storm Chasers in the American Conference Northern Division.

Nashville – which scored five of its seven runs in unearned fashion as a result of six Omaha errors – received another brilliant start from right-hander Wily Peralta and held a 3-1 lead with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning before the Storm Chasers rallied to knot the score against Donovan Hand to force extra frames.

Sounds Split Doubleheader with Omaha On Wednesday

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader with the division-rival Omaha Storm Chasers on Wednesday night at Greer Stadium. Nashville dropped the first game, 4-1, and won the nightcap, 5-4.

The doubleheader split was Nashville’s (32-41) fourth of the season, which moved to 4-4 in twinbill play. The win was just Nashville’s second of the season against the first place Storm Chasers.

Suppan Tosses Two-Hit Shutout At Sounds

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Longtime Major Leaguer Jeff Suppan fired a complete-game, two-hit shutout to lead Omaha to a 7-0 victory over the Sounds on Tuesday evening at Greer Stadium in the opener of a five-game series.

Suppan (6-4) tossed the sixth shutout in the Pacific Coast League this season with his 99-pitch effort. He retired the final 13 Nashville batters in succession to close out the virtuoso performance.

Eric Farris and Mat Gamel each doubled to account for the Sounds’ lone hits on the night.
