Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – The Guenette Arts & Crafts Center still has opportunities to make holiday gifts and decorations and is planning lots of stuff for the kids school break.  Mark your calendars for the next crafting event!  Guenette will be closed on December 24th and 25th.

Framing Classes will be held on Saturdays from 12:30pm to 4:00pm and the cost is $10.00 plus the cost of materials.  Please bring your own art work to frame.  Clay Works and Paint Your Own Pottery are available on a walk-in basis Tuesday through Saturday.  Wheel Throwing and Ceramic Pouring Classes are available by appointment. «Read the rest of this article»

 

Fort Campbell’s Guenette Arts and Crafts Center December Classes

 

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Guenette Arts and Crafts Center has planned some extra-special activities for December.

The Kids Soap Making (Winter Projects) class cost is $8.00, the Kids Drawing Class is cost is $5.00, the Thinking of You Craft class cost is $4.00; both the Decorate a Cookie and Paint a Magnet/Ornament are free with each paid shop fee.  All ages are welcome however, children age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The Pottery Club will meet on December 28th from 10:00am until 12:00pm.  The cost for this is a $4.00 shop fee plus the cost of materials. «Read the rest of this article»

Fort Campbell’s Guenette Arts and Crafts Center Soap Making Class

 

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – The Guenette Arts and Crafts Center still has slots available for the Kids Soap Making Class 2 on Wednesday, June 20th from 1:00pm–2:00pm. Join them for 3 new projects: soap petals, a layered soap and a milk bath.

Cost for the class is $ 10.00 and there is no age limit (kids 12 & younger must be accompanied by an adult).

Fall Creek Falls State Park Announces Mountaineer Folk Festival

 

33rd Annual Event Slated for September 9th-11th

Rub-a-dub-a-dub with Homemade Soap in the Tub

 

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Your kid’s will love to get clean when they get to use the soap they made themselves at Guenette Arts and Crafts Center.

On July 8th and 22nd children of any age can learn how to make their own unique soap. Ages 12 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult. Fall Creek Falls State Park Announces Mountaineer Folk Festival

 

32nd annual event slated for September 10th-12th

Nashville, TN – Fall Creek Falls State Park will host its 32nd Annual Mountaineer Folk Festival September 10th-12th, offering a weekend of traditional music, country cooking, pioneer skills demonstrations and more than 100 craft booths.

“This is an outstanding festival that celebrates the heritage of the Cumberland Plateau with great music, food and fun for the whole family,” said Jim Hall, park manager. “With special events planned throughout the weekend, the Mountaineer Folk Festival offers a wide range of cultural and educational opportunities for all ages.”

The three-day festival kicks off Friday, September 10th at 7:00pm with an old-fashioned square dance and jam session, with music provided by the Blue Creek Ramblers and the Roan Mountain Hilltoppers. The old-time train music of Roy Harper will add to the opening night’s fun.
