Nashville Sounds defeat Round Rock Express 4-2 at First Tennessee Park

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Nashville Sounds beat Round Rock Express 4-2 at First Tennessee Park Tuesday night helped along by great pitching from Sounds bullpen. Seth Maness earned his third win of the season and while David Carpenter earned his seventh save of the season.

The first score of the game came from Round Rock when Alex De Goti hit an RBI single in the top of the third to make it 1-0, Express.

Nashville tied the game in the bottom half of the third when Zack Granite scored on an error by Round Rock starter Akeem Bostick.

Nashville Sounds blast Round Rock Express, 9-5

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds cranked out 16 hits in 9-5 win against the Express in front of a sellout crowd of 11,506 at First Tennessee Park Sunday night. Zack Granite had three hits for Nashville while Matt Davidson, Jett Bandy and Hunter Cole each hit two-run homers.

In the bottom of the first, Granite led off with a bunt-single and scored on a Scott Heineman double. Davidson hit Heineman in on a home run to give Nashville a 3-0 lead.

Kyle Tucker led off the top of the fourth inning with a solo home run for Round Rock to cut Nashville’s lead 3-1.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds lost 11-5 on Saturday night against the Round Rock Express at First Tennessee Park. It was the Sounds first lost game of a six-game series. The Express offense was hot, hitting four home runs off Nashville pitchers.

Garrett Stubbs hit a two-run home run to get Round Rock on the board first in the third inning.

Zack Granite hit a triple in the bottom half of the third and scored on a passed ball to give the Sounds their first run of the game.

First Inning dooms Nashville Sounds against Round Rock Express

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Round Rock Express scored six runs in the first inning and ultimately kept the Sounds at bay as Nashville was defeated 8-2.

Round Rock’s six-run first inning was fueled by six consecutive hits. Derek Fisher and Jack Mayfield hit back-to-back doubles to start things off. Yordan Alvarez hit Mayfield in with a single and was followed by Kyle Tucker with another double to put runners at second and third base.

Alvarez and Tucker scored on a Nick Tanielu single. To cap off the six-hit first inning, Taylor Jones hit a two-run homer to make it 6-0.

Round Rock Express rolls over Nashville Sounds, 11-2

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Round Rock Express spoiled the first Tito’s Tail Waggin’ Tuesday with an 11-2 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of 5,968 fans and 211 dogs at First Tennessee Park Tuesday night.

Express designated hitter Yordan Alvarez hit a grand slam on the seventh pitch of the game and Round Rock never looked back. Myles Straw, Derek Fisher and Taylor Jones collected three consecutive singles off Nashville starter Wes Benjamin to start the game. Alvarez sent Benjamin’s first pitch he saw over the wall in left-center to give the Express an early 4-0 lead.

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – In a game that was mostly in Nashville’s control, a four-run Round Rock inning in the eighth completed a five-run comeback as the Sounds lose to the Express 8-6.

Round Rock started with a bang in the bottom of the first when Myles Straw led off with a triple. Next up, Derek Fisher hit him in with a single and Round Rock took the early 1-0 lead.

Nashville then had a huge inning in second. Matt Davidson and Danny Santana started by walking followed by a single by Andy Ibanez to load the bases with no outs.
