Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – A four-run first inning helped the Round Rock Express top the Nashville Sounds, 7-4, Wednesday night at Dell Diamond. The Sounds have lost six of their last seven games since the 15-game winning streak.

The big inning for the Express came just after the Sounds started the game with a three-run top of the first. After Dustin Fowler reached on a two-out error, Anthony Garcia started the scoring with an RBI double down the left-field line. Moments later, Franklin Barreto clubbed a two-run homer to give the Sounds an early 3-0 lead.

Nashville Honky Tonks late error costly in 3-2 loss to Round Rock Dance Halls

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN -The Round Rock Dance Halls took advantage of an eighth inning error and topped the Nashville Honky Tonks, 3-2, in front of a sellout crowd of 11,071 at First Tennessee Park Friday night.

With two outs and the game even at 2-2 in the top of the eighth, Dance Halls first baseman Tommy Joseph hit a bouncer to Nashville shortstop Jorge Mateo who let go of an errant throw to allow Joseph second base. The miscue came back to hurt when Andy Ibanez followed with a go-ahead, run-scoring single to give Round Rock a 3-2 lead.

Nashville Honky Tonks drop Round Rock Dance Halls in extra innings, 3-2

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – In his first game back from Oakland, Franklin Barreto collected a season-high four hits to help the Nashville Honky Tonks come from behind to defeat the Round Rock Dance Halls 3-2 in 10 innings.

With the threat of a suspended game due to a travel curfew looming and the game knotted at two runs apiece in the bottom of the ninth inning, Honky Tonks reliever Dean Kiekhefer made quick work of the Dance Halls to give Nashville one more chance to win the game. Anthony Garcia came up big for the Honky Tonks with a two-out RBI single in the 10th inning to score Nick Martini who began the frame at second base.

Nashville Honky Tonks late rally falls short at Round Rock Dance Halls, 6-5

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – For the second night in a row, the Nashville Honky Tonks got home runs from Ramon Laureano and Jake Smolinski and rallied late, only to fall 6-5 against the Round Rock Dance Halls on Saturday night at Dell Diamond. The Honky Tonks have lost three of the first four in the series and the Battle for the Boot and are back to .500 on the season at 27-27.

The Honky Tonks never led in the game but fought back from a 5-0 deficit. Former Nashville pitcher Yovani Gallardo gave up just one run over seven innings against his old team. Smolinski grounded out in the sixth to score Nick Martini to get Nashville on the board.

Nashville Honky Tonks fall to Round Rock Dance Halls, 8-1

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX -The Round Rock Dance Halls used a four-run third inning to defeat the Nashville Honky Tonks 8-1 Wednesday night. The victory puts the Dance Halls in front 1-0 in the nine-game Battle for the Boot series.

A pair of two-out two-run home runs in the third inning gave Round Rock all the separation it needed to secure the victory. After the first two batters were retired by Honky Tonks starter Eric Jokisch, the next five reached base. Tony Sanchez doubled then Tommy Joseph homered. Andy Ibanez kept the rally going with a single and came around to score on Cameron Rupp’s opposite field blast.
