Packed House Watches Logan Schafer Belt Two Homers For The Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Brett Wallace belted a pair of homers to lead the Oklahoma City RedHawks to a 10-7 victory over the Nashville Sounds in front of 9,047 fans on Friday evening at Greer Stadium.

With the slugfest victory, the RedHawks gained a split of the four-game set with Nashville (30-45) and won the season series by a 13-3 margin. The Sounds finished their homestand with a 4-4 record.

Center fielder Logan Schafer hit a pair of home runs as part of a 4-for-5 evening for the Sounds, missing the cycle by a double. It marked the first multiple-homer game of his six-year career as well as the first two-homer effort by a Sound this season.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds beat the Oklahoma City RedHawks for the second day in row with a 2-1 victory on Thursday night at Greer Stadium.

The one-run victory was the club’s PCL-leading 17th of the season. Eleven of the 15 games played between Nashville and Oklahoma City this season have been decided by two runs or less.

Nashville (30-44) was held to four hits, but two went for extra bases and were responsible for both runs. In his fifth rehab game while recovering from a left oblique strain, Travis Ishikawa went 1-for-4 with a double and the go-ahead RBI in the sixth inning.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Third baseman Andy Gonzalez led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a home run to power the Nashville Sounds to a 3-2 walkoff victory over Oklahoma City RedHawks on Wednesday evening at Greer Stadium.

Gonzalez’s blast, his sixth of the year, came on a 3-2 offering from RedHawks right-hander Adalberto Flores and gave Nashville (29-44) its 11th last at-bat victory of the year.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Oklahoma City RedHawks plated five late runs to hand the Nashville Sounds a 10-6 defeat in the opener of a four-game series on Tuesday night at Greer Stadium.

The Sounds (28-44) have lost 12 of their 13 games to the RedHawks in 2012, including the last 10 in a row.

Second baseman Eric Farris went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Outfielder Jay Gibbons also had two hits including a double and a run.

Nashville Sounds lose opener but take the nightcap in Doubleheader with Omaha Storm Chasers

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader with the division-rival Omaha Storm Chasers on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium, losing the opener, 8-0, and winning the nightcap, 10-3.

The doubleheader split was Nashville’s third of the season, as the club moved to 4-6 in doubleheader action.

Nashville batted around and exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 10-3 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers in the nightcap of the doubleheader.

Sounds Take Second Straight From Fresno, 5-2

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds won their second straight game against Fresno on Thursday evening at Greer Stadium, posting a 5-2 victory.

Second baseman Eric Farris paced the Sounds’ offense with a 3-for-4 effort and two runs scored, finishing a home run shy of a cycle. Left fielder Jordan Brown drove in three runs on three sacrifice flies, which tied a Pacific Coast League single-game record.

With the win, Nashville (11-22) recorded consecutive victories for the first time since April 21st and 22nd at New Orleans.
