Nashville Sounds blast Omaha Storm Chasers Sunday 13-7

 

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NB – The Nashville Sounds plated four runs in the seventh and eighth innings in route to their 13-7 win Sunday afternoon over the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park.

For the second consecutive day, Jaycob Brugman and Josh Rodriguez led the Sounds to a win over the Storm Chasers. Brugman would go 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI and Rodriguez would club two homers in a 2-for-5 outing. Brugman’s four-hit night is his sixth four-hit game of the season with the Sounds.

Nashville Sounds held scoreless against Omaha Storm Chasers at First Tennessee Park

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Sounds were shut out on Sunday night at First Tennessee Park and dropped the series finale to the Omaha Storm Chasers, 3-0.

The finale stumbled off to a slow start in the opening stages, as Chris Bassitt and Andy Ferguson both suppressed any offensive attack. Omaha did finally jump on the scoreboard, but not until the fifth inning had rolled around.

The Storm Chasers had a prime chance to bust the game open in the sixth, but Bassitt got Rey Fuentes to ground out with the bases loaded to escape the jam.

Nashville Sounds lose in extra innings 7-5 to Omaha Storm Chasers at First Tennessee Park

 

10,521 Fans Take Part in Nashville Sounds’ 12th Sellout

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds lost 7-5 in 10 innings to the Omaha Storm Chasers in front of a sold out First Tennessee Park in their first game after the All-Star break.

Dayan Viciedo started the scoring for the Sounds, driving Joey Wendle in from first with an opposite field triple. The home team would then load the bases the following inning and tally another run, going up 2-0.

The game remained that way until the fourth inning when Barry Zito ran into trouble. Keyed by four hits and a costly error from Nate Freiman, Omaha sent all nine batters to the plate and opened up a 4-2 advantage over the Sounds.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Sounds and Storm Chasers were scoreless through nine innings in Friday night’s pitchers’ duel at First Tennessee Park, but Omaha scored in the tenth and secured a 1-0 win.

The neck of the guitar-shaped scoreboard at First Tennessee Park displayed zeros on both sides for nine innings. Finally in the tenth, Omaha’s designated hitter Casey Kotchman lifted a sacrifice fly to left that scored Paulo Orlando for the game’s only tally. It was the second straight one-run contest that went the Storm Chasers’ direction to open the series.
