Tennessee Ranks in Top Five as Retirement Destination

 

Tennessee Department of TourismNashville, TN – Tennessee has been named No. 4 in a recent analysis of the 10 Best States for Retirement 2016 by Kiplinger.com, a Washington, D.C.-based publisher of business forecasts and personal finance advice. The report rated all 50 states based on quantifiable factors that are important to retirees.

Affordability, especially in terms of lower taxes on retirees and lower health care costs, was a key factor in the research. The economic health of the state, as well as the overall health of the population, was also taken into account. States with prosperous populations of residents age 65 were also important in the comprehensive analysis.

Come out and enjoy the great weather with these Outdoor Recreation Adventure Programs.

Climbing 101: May 8th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. The cost is $10.00. Anyone age 12 and over who wants to learn the exciting sport of climbing is welcome to join this activity. The clinic will cover equipment, belay instruction, safety precautions, and technique. Instruction and equipment are included. Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – Join Outdoor Recreation Adventure Programs for hiking, canoeing, climbing, caving, rafting and camping this month!

They’ll start the month off with a Fall Creek Falls Day Hike on July 6th from 8:00am to 6:00pm. You must be age 10 or over to participate and the cost is $25.00 which includes transportation.  This is a moderate hiking trip to view the largest water fall in the eastern U.S. Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on July 3rd. «Read the rest of this article»

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Finally it’s June!  Let Outdoor Recreation Adventure Programs help you find something fun to do. They’ll start the month off with a Wilderness First Aid Class on June 1st and 2nd from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Wilderness Medicine Institute provides the highest quality education and information for the recognition, treatment and prevention of wilderness emergencies. This hands-on training will provide you with the skills and tools to make difficult medical decisions in remote settings.

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Join Outdoor Recreation Adventure Programs as they enjoy the warmer spring weather. They’ll start the month off with a Whitewater Kayaking Pool Clinic on April 6th from 8:30am to 11:00am at Gardner Indoor Pool. Ages 12 and up are invited to participate.

Come out and let the staff work with you on various techniques which include boat selection, proper fitting, paddle strokes, bracing and even the Eskimo roll.
