Clarksville, TN – On April 23rd, runners, walkers and community supporters will gather at Austin Peay State University’s Foy Fitness and Recreation Center for the Sixth Annual Austin Peay Breast Cancer 5k. Proceeds from the event, which is pet friendly, will go toward breast cancer treatment and research.The 5k will begin at 8:00am that morning, and medals and prize drawings will take place after the race. In addition to the 5k, there will be a 1-mile fun starting at 8:30am.
Register by April 9th to receive the discounted registration fee of $15.00 for current APSU students or $25.00 for all others. Participants can register at the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center or online at http://tinyurl.com/Active5k16. Participants can also register the day of the race, starting at 6:30am.
This annual event is one of a number of activities held in support of the American Cancer Society’s battle against cancer. Montgomery County’s Relay For Life event will be held on May 20th, at the Hilldale Baptist Family Life Center, at 250 Old Farmers Road, to mark the end of the fundraising campaign.
Relay For Life, the world’s largest grassroots fundraising movement, mobilizes communities throughout the country to fight back against the disease. The event brings together individuals to further the American Cancer Society’s vision of creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
