Austin Peay State University offers Active Shooter Defense Training

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – As part of their ongoing safety training offered to the campus community and public, Austin Peay State University police officers are offering active shooter defense training sessions on campus beginning Thursday, March 15th.

All sessions are free and open to the public.

Classes will take place in the Sundquist Science Complex, room 106A, starting Thursday, March 15th, from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with additional classes being offered Sunday, March 18th, from noon-2:00pm, 2:00pm-4:00pm and 4:00pm-6:00pm.

The class will provide realistic safety tips, an overview of self-defense devices and discuss “what if” scenarios if an active shooter is in your location. The sessions are designed to teach all ages.

Seating is limited and registration is required. To reserve seats, email Charyl Ramsey at ramseyc@apsu.edu and include the date, time and number attending.
