Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators saw their season come to an end tonight with a game seven loss to the Winnipeg Jets, 5-1.
Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne was pulled after the Predators found themselves down, 2-0. He made five saves before his exit. Juuse Saros replaced him in net and had 14 saves on the night.
Nothing was working for Nashville tonight, even though they had a fired up. sold out Bridgestone Arena crowd on hand, they just couldn’t score. Connor Hellebuyck made 36 saves in net for the Jets.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the first inning and held off the Colorado Springs Sky Sox en route to a 12-7 win Thursday night.
Anthony Garcia led the way offensively for the Sounds with five RBI. The right fielder picked up a two-run single in the first, belted a two-run homer in the fourth, and recorded a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
The Sounds built a large cushion with an offensive explosion in the first inning. Nashville sent 12 batters to the plate and tallied eight runs on nine hits to put the game out of reach.

Clarksville, TN – At long last, Austin Peay State University track and field gets the chance to put it all together against the Ohio Valley Conference’s finest competition as the APSU Govs travel to Cookeville Tennessee for the 2018 OVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Tennessee Tech at Tucker Stadium.
Austin Peay seeks its fifth consecutive top-five finish in OVC Outdoor competition. Last season, APSU’s 87.33 points placed them fifth, less than four points behind third-place Tennessee Tech.

Fort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell Fish and Wildlife officials have confirmed the first nesting of bald eagles on post.
“We, at Fish and Wildlife have suspected they were nesting in the past, but this is the first confirmed,” said Daniel Moss, avian ecologist with Fort Campbell Fish and Wildlife, that is part of the Directorate of Public Works.
According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service “on August 9th, 2007, the bald eagle was removed from the federal list of threatened and endangered species. After nearly disappearing from most of the United States decades ago, the bald eagle is now flourishing across the nation and no longer needs the protection of the Endangered Species Act.” Eagles are now protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.
Clarksville, TN – On Tuesday, May 8th, 2018, Clarksville Police responded to a vehicle accident on 101st Airborne Division Parkway and Pea Ridge.
A 2015 Nissan Pathfinder turned in front of a Harley Davidson motorcycle and the motorcycle collided with the Nissan and caught fire.
The motorcycle driver died at the scene.

Clarksville, TN – Spring Commencement Exercises for Austin Peay State University’s 89th Commencement Year were held Friday, with almost 1,300 students receiving diplomas, and an inspirational commencement address from Valerie Hunter-Kelly, Co-owner Keller Williams Realty-Clarksville.
The Spring Commencement consisted of three sessions, with ceremonies at 8:00am, Noon, and 4:00pm to accommodate the graduates, their friends and families.
