Clarksville Obituary: Virginia Smith Sherbin

Clarksville, TN – Virginia Smith Sherbin, age 81, passed away on August 26th, 2026. She was born July 18th, 1945, in Rainelle, West Virginia, to Ashley Wiseman Smith and Beatrice Elizabeth Smith.

Virginia will be remembered for the life she built and for the simple joys that brought her happiness. She worked as a manager at JCPenney, a role that reflected her steady presence and sense of responsibility. Outside of work, she loved road trips, country music, China Dolls, and hummingbirds, interests that added warmth and personality to her life and will remain part of how she is remembered by those who knew her.

Above all, Virginia’s memory lives on in her family. She is survived by her son, Stephen Sherbin (Nikki); her daughter, Rhonda Sherbin; her brother, Lyle Smith; and sister-in-law, Linda Smith. She also leaves five grandchildren, Stephen Sherbin, KC Hardy, CJ Borders, Raelynn Sherbin, and RJ Sherbin, and three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Darren, and LeLand. May they find comfort in the memories they shared with her and in the lasting place she holds in their hearts.

Virginia was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Smith; her father, Ashley Smith; her brothers, Ashley Len Smith and Leo Smith; and her sister-in-law, Minnie Smith
