Tennessee Vols Football loses at home 34-13 to #5 Texas A&M Aggies

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee Vols Football got touchdown passes from Harrison Bailey and J.T. Shrout in the first half, but the Vols were unable to keep pace in falling 34-13 to fifth-ranked Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon at Neyland Stadium.
 
Bailey, a true freshman, had a 33-yard touchdown pass on the game’s opening drive and finished the day 6-of-6 for 85 yards. Redshirt sophomore J.T. Shrout added a 46-yard strike with a sensational catch by redshirt sophomore wide receiver Cedric Tillman in the second quarter and ended the game 6-of-14 for 104 yards. Tillman led all UT receivers with 61 yards on two catches.

Tennessee Vols Football to play #5 Texas A&M on December 19th

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee Vols Football’s December 19th, 2020 regular season finale against No. 5 Texas A&M is set for a 11:00am CT kickoff in Neyland Stadium, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) announced on Thursday, December 10th.

The SEC has scheduled four games on December 19th that were postponed during the 2020 season due to the impact of COVID-19 Coronavirus and involve teams that did not otherwise qualify for participation in the SEC Football Championship.

Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball falls to Texas A&M, 73-71

 

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 25 Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team pulled to within two points in the final minute but couldn’t overcome a No. 16/18 Texas A&M team that went 28 of 33 from the free-throw line en route to a 73-71 victory in Thompson-Boling Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Rae Burrell led UT (17-8, 7-5 SEC) with 19 points and seven rebounds in front of a season-best crowd of 12,738. Junior Rennia Davis was also in double figures for the Big Orange, posting 18 points, six assists and five rebounds.

The Lady Vols and Aggies enter the contest in a tie for fourth place in the conference standings along with Arkansas and Kentucky at 7-4.

UK has a win over UT, and the Big Orange women face A&M and UA in their next two games.

Tennessee Vols Basketball loses to Texas A&M, 63-58

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Despite three Vols scoring in double figures, Tennessee basketball fell to Texas A&M, 63-58, Tuesday night in Thompson-Boling Arena. The contest featured seven lead changes and a season-high nine blocks by UT.
 
Junior John Fulkerson led the Vols (12-8, 4-3 SEC) with 15 points and a team-high six rebounds. It marked the sixth time in seven games that Fulkerson has scored in double digits. Senior Jordan Bowden was right behind him with 13, followed by junior Yves Pons, who scored 10.

Including this match-up, the Lady Vols have three contests remaining during the regular season. The next two are at home (No. 13/13 South Carolina, Vanderbilt) and the last one is away (Ole Miss).

Tennessee Lady Vols had no answer to Texas A&M in 79-62 loss

UT Lady VolsCollege Station, TX – The Tennessee Lady Vols outscored No. 21/22 Texas A&M 20-17 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome an Aggies team that scored 27 points on nearly 70-percent shooting in the third quarter to send the Lady Vols to a 79-62 setback in Reed Arena.
 
UT (17-9, 6-7 SEC) was led in scoring by sophomore guard Evina Westbrook who had 17 points and five assists. Senior forward Cheridene Green posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Rennia Davis also managed double digits, finishing the day with 10 points.
